I worked at Dairy Queen full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The Assistant Manager at my branch was the friendliest person alive however, she was the only higher up person who knew how to run a store correctly. The other plus was being able to work with some of my friends, which made it a little easier.

    Cons

Low salary of $7.25 (minimum wage). The owner and managers did not know how to do scheduling and had no control over the staff. Team members would often not show up for night shifts. There was the same amount of people in the day time as there was at night yet the night crew had 3x the amount in sales. Night time crew was then also responsible for cleaning and restocking the whole store when the morning shift did barely anything. And lastly, the hire ups (assistant managers/managers) focused on making cakes as their core responsibility and paper work was never done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Managers, do the job you should actually be doing. Fire those who just don't show up for shifts. Give the good employees what their worth in their salaries.

I worked at Dairy Queen part-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule and a great job to teach responsibility and effective time management if you are still in school. Teaches you the basics of how fast food operations work.

    Cons

Minimum wage pay and moving up in management did not mean you were guaranteed much more pay then minimum wage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give all employees free meals, especially considering employees do all the hard, physical labor.

    I worked at Dairy Queen

    Pros

    Cons

Cash registers were a little outdated, and drive through was difficult because i couldn' t hear what the customer was saying very clearly.
