I worked at Daiwa Capital Advisors

    Pros

Could work from home three to four days per week. Fairly good salary structure.

The benefits package was very generous.

Seemed to be a very stable environment, with clear company strategies, goals and initiatives. They are clearly explained to employees.

They want their employees to be as successful as possible. Successful employees, means a more profitable company

    Cons

Advancement can be a slow process. Employees are there for several years before they can expect a promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management does an overall good job. The opportunities for advancement are their if you are patient. I don't think the hourly positions are paid enough for the work that is completed.

I worked at Daiwa Capital Advisors

    Pros

    Compensation, Minimum Stress, Camaraderie, Hours,

    Cons

Lack of Leadership in Senior Manangenment, Mangement cliques, Blame game and lack of personal responsibilty among departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not be so elitist. Provide more leadership by being more visible, less autocratic, and communicating directly with employees. Do not be so quick to place blame on departments or individuals but foster initiative and teamwork by emphasising doing what's best for the company.

I have been working at Daiwa Capital Advisors

    Pros

Laid back, Easy work loads, Very little pressure from management, Basic salary ok and as long as your married you get an easy time with the work/life balance.

    Cons

Bonus very low, Severe lack of career progression all decent senior positions go to Japanese, At Japanese companies they send employees to London for 'training' even if there is no work for them and they are not needed, there is now incentive to out perform because your bonus remains unchanged and (if your Japanese) you will get promoted at 30yrs, 40yrs and 50yrs anyway REGARDLESS of ability!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Double bonuses and Pension contributions and install many more non Japanese senior management.

    Pros

good income and good work environment

    Cons

should change the way of communication between the leadership and employees and increase the office environment and how to make it as modern as possible

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

improve communication between leadership and employees by more frequent QAs, surveys and business events, team build ... more over should review employees' comments.
