    Pros

You have the opportunity to get a wide variety of experiences. You have the opportunity to impact the lives of others; and help others make changes to better themselves.

    Cons

There needs to be more opportunities for professional growth and development. More focus on life-work balance is needed.

    Pros

The DSO is a good steady job. Set hours. A very good benefits and retirement package. It's a Civil Service job, so there are very good employee protections in place.

    Cons

There is absolutely NO professional development of any kind whatsoever. Leadership is severely lacking.

    Pros

Benefits, paid holidays, no accountability. Easy money

    Cons

no accountability, rotating scheduled, good ol' boy system. No raises in over 4 years, low pay.

    Advice to Management

Retire early, all older people have seniority even if they are new hires. Unjust work conditions, stop siding with people who refuse to work over people who are forced to do their seniors work. Many times that a older guy complains about back pains or not being able to do the job because they are too old and make the younger employees carry the burden. If you cant do the job, you should not be working.

    Pros

The county has really good insurance benefits, holidays off and PTO. There are always opportunities to move up since there are always vacancies.

    Cons

Poor management, poor pay, overworked, extremely high turnover rate and toxic environment. The employees in certain departments are far from professional. Subordinates are more qualified than management. Will go several YEARS without a pay increase.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees because many of them have better ideas on how to improve the programs. Stop hiring overqualified employees just to turn around and underpay and devalue them. They are more valuable than you think.

  7. Low Pay

    Pros

Good retirement package (7%), some good people and that's about it...

    Cons

Retirement package, benefits, people, facilities, culture, management, human resources. Work is easy, but you won't learn much. There is no room for new ideas.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees. No wonder nobody wants to work in the public sector.

    Pros

The work is consistent and it is easy to learn what is required. Task are simple and not overly complicated. Fast paced does not apply here. "Do what you can with the time that is given"

    Cons

Advancement is nearly impossible to achieve. I took one week to feel confident enough to work unassisted and if you are looking for new challenges or even suggesting more efficient ways to perform tasks, those suggestions may not be taken seriously.

    Advice to Management

Accountability is lacking and managers are too lenient with employees to the point where managers are being taken advantage of.
