    Pros

On paper this looks like a good job for a Mechanical or Materials engineer because they'll be dealing with mechanisms and new materials.

    Cons

However there was motivation for innovation and upper management was focused on ringing every drop from that dam Damon line. People were nice enough, but just pretty dressed because they all see the end coming and don't have enough energy to get off the boat

    Advice to Management

Nothing. This is a horrible place to work and mainly because of Danaher and upper management

    Pros

Challenging daily work environment, talented management, high expectations. If you are willing to work hard, ask questions, and show you are committed, it is a great place to begin your career or grow your career. Also many locations around the country and world

    Cons

Business moves very quickly which can be frustrating for some. Acquisitions of other companies are frequent and can cause confusion about how company will be integrated into the existing Danaher operating company

    Advice to Management

communicate more on where we are going with products and direction in the marketplace, how we are going to continue winning

Very business focused where employees were expected to perform at not 100% capacity but at 110%.

    Pros

Employees are encouraged to strive for excellence at all times which also motivates personal growth. There are many opportunities to learn and expand your knowledge as well as training. Many great people work there, the most enjoyable part of the job was to be around such wonderful people.

    Cons

Due to the constant pressure the company puts on their employees it is a very stressful to be an employee there. Employees are required to conduct many self assessments each year but are rarely rewarded for their efforts.

    I worked at Danaher

    Pros

Office culture was good, fairly laid back. DBS and 5S were good tools to have and were definitely enforced. Would work for Danaher again!

    Cons

Benefits weren't great, but better than most. Raises and reviews didn't always happen in a timely fashion. Promotions weren't always encouraged from within.

    Pros

Strong financial health, deep pockets for acquisitions. When they enter a segment they want to dominate it. Good sense of who to buy and when. Good comp plans. Lot's of opportunity to advance and grow.

    Cons

It is run by bean counters. In all the lines of business you will find a person with an accounting background running the show. Hard to do things like innovate, serve the customer well, make good equipment and grow the top line when the people in charge are looking through the lens of a spreadsheet.

    Advice to Management

    1) Stop putting CPA's in charge of large sales organizations. 2) If you are buying companies that have working equipment and the new models developed under DHR don't measure up, you are doing it wrong 3) Danaher is becoming a brand in and of itself, and in some lines of business letting the companies keep their individual brands creates confusion for the customers and weakens the impact of being owned by DHR.

    Pros

Once you're in middle management for one of the operating companies, you get good benefits and opportunities to really drive change in the business

    Cons

Certain businesses are not really growth companies. strategy and direction is either stagnant or changes wildly every year

    Pros

Competitive environment with strong leadership and opportunities to grow. Better than average benefits, and a total compensation package that is aided by extremely strong stock performance.

    Cons

Many things are decentralized and sometimes lean is taken too far, but hard to argue with results.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to keep a laser focus on results and growing the business through strategic acquisitions, but also not lose sight of the most important resource in Danaher, it's people.

    Pros

I enjoyed the procurement team. We the buyers looked out for one another and covered down when workloads become unbearable which they did most of the time.

    Cons

Lack of personnel and training. We were told they would hire more employees but they never did. The company also took away our ability to work remote which was a reason I took the job. Leadership slow at responding to time sensitive decisions. Employees are not held accountable for their actions and do not pull their weight.

    Advice to Management

Provide training (any!). Stop closed doors decision making, allow all employees to have buy in on projects.
