Pros
Independence in creative thinking
Open work culture
Easy communication with senior management
Cons
Perception is bigger then actual output sometimes
Pros
Benefits for full-time employees, large company, well known name in many industries, vacation sick and holiday paid time off is available.
Cons
Inequality, preference to certain individuals, unfairly biased employees, benefits are not given to all employees equally, communication and work life balance is inadequate.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more transparent in order to allow open communication with ALL employees. This should includ the lower level employees and lower level managment, not just upper management.
Pros
Good benefits and support, big on education and moving ahead, seem to care about the employees and environment. Team work was important and interdepartmental relations were very good. A good place to work.
Cons
With Danisco being a Danish company many differences can be found between US ideas and Danish. Still a great place to work over all.
Advice to Senior Management
Tom Knutzen is doing a great job. He has brought Danisco through some hard times and they seem to be growing even in the economy downturn.
Pros
Good compensation. Great environment. A large company with a small company feel. Leaders who listen and follow through with plans and act as leaders.
Cons
To easy on employees who dont follow the rules of attendance and pull favorites within departments. Hard to plan things in my life sporatic schedule.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing a great job as a company just try to focus more on the employee as an individual and his or her accomplishments.
Pros
Good benefits, flexible working hours, great learning and travel opportunities, praise and recognition for your work. Lots of focus on innovation and they actively ask for individual input. A company that's moving in the right direction.
Cons
Most cons will be the direct result of the dept you work for. There may be lots of politics to deal with.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to care about building people within. Foster more inter-divisional communication and collaboration.
Pros
Very flexible, you can pretty much do what you want without guidance. It's a large company with global reach, so lots of opportunities around the world. Lots of changes in management and it is a younger and more vibrant company than 2-3 years ago. They understand the need to change and are working at it. This will take a while, but things are moving in the right direction.
Cons
Not sure how much company values are really practiced. They are always stated in presentations, but don't seem to be embedded in how we work. Corporate HR needs to have more global way of thinking and be more accommodating of how things work outside of Denmark.
Advice to Senior Management
Work on linking the strategies to department, project and individual goals and objectives.
Pros
Great level of freedom to do your job. Not any restrictions in terms of standards etc. Information sharing is encouraged. People at Danisco A/S are generally helpfull and comitted to do a good job.
Cons
Lack of interrest to learn from previous experiences. Danisco 's value are the enthusiastic employees, there is not paid much attention to methods and standards. Different departments might work in slightly different directions because not all below the management level know and understand the strategy.
Advice to Senior Management
Show strategy and vision (most people work as they are used to - regardless of new strategies), make it feasible and possible to go for vision.
Pros
The Genencor division was one of the best places to work in America. Since the aquisition of Genencor by Danisco, many of the old Genencor values are being destroyed. The benefits and perks and the superb co-workers are the best reason to work at Genencor division, Danisco.
Cons
The culture clash between the top-down hierarchical, 'do as you are told' Danish management and the expectation that being a loyal supporter of the status quo is more important that innovation and risk taking.
Advice to Senior Management
Innovation and growth comes from the bay area employees, embrace change!
