I have been working at Danya International full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Overall, Danya provides good basic benefits such as a matching 401(K) plan, flexible telecommute opportunities, multiple career paths, and some opportunities for growth. In some areas, such as their research area, it is a great opportunity for recent grads since they can be given fairly strong responsibilities. It is a good company to learn federal contracting basics, such as proposal writing. Experienced individuals can participate in genuinely meaningful work that makes a difference. Danya does try to hang on to good people during down times, such as when a project loses a rebid and they will try to find an opportunity. Work-life balance will largely be related to your supervisor and group, but it is generally good.

    Cons

Like many companies, your experience will vary depending on the group you work with and who your immediate and superior managers are. Some groups have great managers who provide mentoring, training, opportunities for advancement, encouragement, and will support you with executive management. Some groups have poor managers who do not provide mentoring, advancement opportunities, or provide support on your behalf to senior management. Senior management does not listen well to the concerns or ideas of workers. The Human Resource department has a history of poor response, communication, and help. Most of the HR department left over the past year and perhaps that will improve things. The company expresses the importance of various values within the company but these can be overshadowed by senior management dysfunction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Danya does a good job of recruiting good staff. Danya does a poor job of retaining good staff.

I worked at Danya International full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The particular job I was hired for was interesting. Great team (except the project manager). Owner is a nice person and makes an effort to know all the employees, old and new.

    Cons

Horrible supervisor. Micromanager, jealous, zero people skills. Company seems to be comfortable where it's at.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you have multiple staff from the same team quitting, get a clue and find out why they are quitting. Is it that they found better opportunities elsewhere? Maybe it was a family situation? Or, maybe, it was a terrible project manager who liked to micromanage staff, constantly scheduled team meetings at 8:30am and 4:30 pm that ran for 2 hours (talk about devising a way to have employees be at the office earlier and get them to stay after hours).

I have been working at Danya International full-time

    Pros

Flexibility, compensation, non-stressful workplace, family oriented

    Cons

Some senior managers ( one in particular) lacks effective communication with staff and is very temper-mental which causes workplace to be stressful. Micromanages adult staff

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know that effective management, flexibility makes employees more willing to increase productivity/ service. Remove non-effective managers in order to retain good loyal employees.

I worked at Danya International full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Pay and location are acceptable.

    Cons

Poor management of staff, product development, and client relationships

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop burning bridges. Former employees become new employees to someone else. This is relevant because your reputation will precede the company in a negative way.

I worked at Danya International full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I worked here for over 10 years on a government contract. I enjoyed the opportunity and was treated really well. The HR department is awesome and will do a lot to help the staff. The company is small and tight knit. You are giving opportunities to work with other departments and to learn new and exciting work.

    Cons

The owner is very engaged with staff and knows you by first name, however he at times seem to be disconnected from the overall company while focusing his attention on other ventures. Very kind person tho...

I worked at Danya International as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

they pay you for your time. Very lax and drawn out deadlines plenty of free time. Everyone is really nice.

    Cons

low accountability. dull projects. little opportunity to shine.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

none. Good job guys! For people who have to put up with government and their slow process they rock and are extremely understanding. They are the pros at this and understand the ins and outs of what they want and don't want.

I worked at Danya International full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Recognized high-performance employees on a monthly basis.

    Cons

Mid-size company operating as a small company. There are few opportunities to participate in professional development activities including trainings and attending conferences. The Atlanta Office has a high turnover with many people using the company as a stepping stone. Many people only work for Danya for a few years and then quit to work for competitors such as ICF International due to low salaries and limited opportunities to move up in the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more professional development and promotion opportunities. Listen to employers more. Conduct anonymous employee satisfaction survey on a regular basis.
