    Pros

Excellent training program. managers rotate from FOH to BOH every 6 months for better cross training for better opportunities in the future.

    Cons

Very long work hours for managers (not Partners). Security extremely strict to the point of being ridiculous at times.

    Advice to Management

Watch your Managing Partners. Are they really working the hours they have on the schedule?

    Pros

Co workers were great. Everyone helped each other out.

    Cons

Bad management. Everyone contradicted each other.

    Advice to Management

Work as one. Don't say you are going to do something &
     never follow through.

There is not much flexibility in the uniform, really strict on it.
There is not a set time for you to clock out so sometimes you can be there an hour after closing.

    Pros

Consistent paycheck, free meals, bonuses, 401k, insurance. Darden Dimes is nice, but if employees knew that their donations are placed into investments, they probably wouldn't participate.

    Cons

Long, long hours. Small yearly increases. Co-managers are lazy and unaccountable. 'Area of operations' rotation (lack of consistency). Labor matrix very unreasonable. 'Utility Program' is a joke - restaurants are dirty and gross. The system is set up to suck the life right of of you and your employees.

    Advice to Management

To the greedy people at the top trying to look good to the shareholders, you have no idea how much your managers and employees resent you for creating such a laborsome work environment. By far the most demanding, underpaid position of my life. If you would anonymously survey your people, you might be shocked to find how many managers and team members dislike working for Longhorn Steakhouse.

    Pros

They have benefits such as health, dental, eye, life, disability insurances, they run a "darden dimes" program to help employees in times of emergencies, they have discounts from places such as Dell, Verizon, Jackson Hewitt, ect

    Cons

You are nothing to them. They do not care if you make money working there or not as long as their bottom line is good then they dont care about you at all

    Advice to Management

Quit being so afraid of breaking corporates rules

    Pros

Stable but low pay. They have a good benefits and rewards program. If you were to move there would be opportunity to transfer to another restaurant..

    Cons

I have been working there almost 7years aand I work every holiday and weekend except for Christmas and thanksgiving

    Advice to Management

Start looking out for the employees who have been a positive influence in your restaurant. Need to give better raises for those who deserve it.
