I have been working at Data Recognition Corporation as a contractor for more than 3 years

    Pros

Seemed interested in employees and in quality. Good pay for the various levels with the ability to increase once certain amount of hours are reached. Great people to work with.

    Cons

Things started slipping as the industry changed. They don't seem to have anticipated the changes and are, instead, responding to how other companies are adapting. Will overwork excellent employees, plus it's hard to move ahead unless you're in MN.

I worked at Data Recognition Corporation full-time

    Pros

    *Very friendly and talkative team.

*Management listens to what you may have concerns about or what could be improved.

*Some variety in the daily tasks you will be doing for most of the year to break up the monotony.

*Nice facilities that are very well kept.

*Fitness facilities in the buildings. Although you won't have much time to use them generally.

    Cons

*Monotony of the work drags on sometimes.

*Sometimes there aren't agreed upon ways of doing things that can negatively affect job performance and create confusion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

*Only thing I can think of is making a standard protocol to be followed at each location for each job so transitions are smoother and there is less confusion.

I worked at Data Recognition Corporation as a contractor for less than a year

    Pros

They make sure you get your 15 minute breaks and lunch breaks. They are open to comments made and willing to do something about them.

    Cons

When scoring projects, you are sitting at a computer straight thru and are in a large open environment with several others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Emphasize the no perfumes/lotions due to a large number of staff in one room.

    Pros

Good Pay for Part Time. Nice people. They fill you with lots of free snacks.

    Cons

It gets kind of tiring and hard on back. You can't miss any of your shift to get the bonus pay which is what makes your pay so good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep encouraging the workers.

I worked at Data Recognition Corporation

    Pros

Very laid-back and low-stress. Lots of feedback on work performance on a daily basis. This includes both negative and positive. Overall, wonderful and interesting co-workers. Promotions are generally from within.

    Cons

The Reader/Test Scorer position is strictly a seasonal opportunity. Thus, no traditional benefits (i.e. no medical/dental, insurance, paid time off, etc.). Opportunities for advancement are somewhat random and are by management appointment.

I worked at Data Recognition Corporation full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Hard working environment, good benefits, wellness programs, vacation time, time off for volunteerism, good health and dental benefit options, medium sized company.

    Cons

Personal growth was limited due to budget constraints for training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider 360 degree reviews for team leads, managers, and directors. Continuing education was discouraged due to cost.

I have been working at Data Recognition Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Management was supportive of personal development and work-life balance. Examples include tuition reimbursement, conference participation, and fairly flexible scheduling. Their wellness program is really impressive: healthy-living lunch-and-learns, onsite massage, gym and fitness programs, health-conscious menu in cafeteria, etc. Also, the campus is beautiful, and it's nice to work outside the bustle of the cities.

    Cons

The organizational structure is pretty flat, so promotions are infrequent. Compensation is a little below average.
