    Pros

Best benefits I've ever had at a company. Family atmosphere where employees are valued.

    Cons

Very hard to get hired permenantly. Start as contractor and wait, wait, wait. Bit of an insular feeling, with small number of associates and lots of contractors.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

Great culture, flexible hours, great benefits.

    Cons

Aggressive work environment . They keep the employees busy round the year . There's nothing called down time .

    Advice to Management

Try to retain employees by leveraging their strengths instead of firing them for their weakness .

    Pros

Excellent benefits and I do not know what else to write about this subject except i'm glad i'm not there anymore.

    Cons

below average pay and again i do not know why i have to say more on the subject. I dont have anything more to say.

    Advice to Management

work/life balance is leaning toward work dominating. minimal training, no perks. no room for advancement.

    Pros

The bar is so low that it's hard not to meet it. Decent benefits. Depending on who you work for, it could be easy street.
If you're one of those type of people that isn't looking to work hard, and keep a low profile, you're golden.

    Cons

Directors are most concerned with keeping their jobs. No product management what-so-ever. And to add to that the latest product, in constant refactoring, has no natural upgrade plan from current. Client satisfaction isn’t even on the radar, consistently blaming the clients for defects, etc. Zero leadership. People in position of power and authority have no practical experience. One manager practices management by fear, another by likeability. You’re definitely not judged by your performance.
This bus will crash, and considering there isn’t a driver, deserves to. Five years ago, great company. Now, it really needs an upper mgmt. hour cleaning. Bottomline, JMFamily (the parent company) should be watching this out of control, tantrum throwing, child. Good people will leave…

    Advice to Management

Manage by performance. Be less concerned about sheltering yourself from getting let go.

  6. In the beginning it was my dream job, but then under new ownership it went downhill due to poor management.

    Pros

I had some wonderful co-workers & managers, time off was great and upbeat atmosphere and activities was phenomenal. Compensation was fair. Felt extreme respect by all until....

    Cons

When acquired by JM, management was held in high esteem and the subordinates' opinion was not even paid attention to. Co workers were played against each other and what some managers got away with! But no one would listen....

    Advice to Management

Listen to your associates when they come to you with issues concerning their managers. Retaliation should NEVER be allowed. If you suspect an associate has a problem they are dealing with take one on one time with them; not just a casual 'is everything okay' and believe that they are thinking that you truly are concerned.

    Pros

Work life balance is good even though department is busy. Co-workers are very helpful and a great group of people. Company paid outings for contractors as well as employees.

    Cons

Managers appear to be upfront and open yet they have shown what they say is not always what they mean. The company values and management values are not the same, yet they expect higher standards from their employees. Essentially support from the management team is sorely lacking.

    Advice to Management

    Honesty is the best policy.

    Pros

Great group of people to work with, fairly flexible

    Cons

Upper mgmt has not changed in years; tendency to react to current conditions & not plan for future. Morale is low.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees, value their opinions, open your eyes to the low morale

    Pros

"Associates are our most important asset" - quote by parent company founder, Jim Moran. DataScan Technologies is the industry leader in North America offering Floorplan / Wholesale Inventory financing software. JM Family (parent organization) has been on the Fortune Top 100 places to work list for 15+ consecutive years. Encouraged work life balance, great people, technology investments made to stay ahead of the competition. Plenty of career growth opportunities at the individual contributor levels.

    Cons

HQ location is nestled into South Forsyth County suburbs which can make it a logistical challenge to attract talent looking for the "urban experience". Associates stay for years which can make it a "waiting game" to get to the next level in management positions.

    Pros

Good first job, you are assigned a geographical territory and you are able to work at your own pace without any supervision.

    Cons

Lowest salary you will ever make in your career. They promise you a future but its just to make you keep pushing. If you take a job with this company start looking for something else after 3 to 6 months.

    Advice to Management

Monitor your area managers treatment of thier employees.
