    I worked at David's Bridal

    Pros

So much fun! Everyday was something new to look forward to. There's a lot of energy there & for someone who likes to stay busy, it was a great job. It felt like the day flew by but looking back, you accomplished a lot within a few hours.

    Cons

Brides can be moody and wedding day is something people look forward to their whole lives, it can be very stressful if something goes wrong and working at Davids bridal you have to be compassionate but have thick skin.

I worked at David's Bridal full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The ladies I worked with were wonderful, knowledgeable and great to work with. The dresses were beautiful and easy to manage. Everyone followed the DB standards and listened to each other. Hours were good, work was steady during the busy season.

    Cons

The seasons fluctuated as bridal seasons would come and go. Would get very busy for a few months then die and would have no hours to work. Difficult to continue to work when going to school at same time and needed to make a living.

    Cons

They went out of the Photography Business

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wish you had concentrated on the few good photographers you had and let the rest go. it might have meant turning some work away but you would still have this division.

I have been working at David's Bridal full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent pay and benefits. Great holidays, it is not like normal retail, it is slow during the holidays and you get Christmas eve and Christmas day off.

There are great growth opportunities, the company really focuses on promoting from within. District Managers are hard on you but they make you stronger as a leader. I noticed a lot of consultants complain about how they did not get enough training or the pay was low...we had high performing team members at our store so it just depends on the store management team as well as the selling ability of the consultant. Some people get it right away and the love it, some people don't. In this business if you don't love what you do, you wont make money.

As a company, David's Bridal is always trying to think of newer, better ways of doing things. They are constantly trying to better themselves and always listen to the team. This was by far one of my most favorite jobs, I loved what I did.

    Cons

    Retail hours
Stores can use a face lift
Avoid high volume stores, they are notorious for providing the worst customer service and my experience is that people hate working at high volume stores.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

They just got a new CEO and she is great. She is making some awesome changes and focusing on new concept stores.

I have been working at David's Bridal full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Very Friendly staff
The best store manager I have worked with in my 18 years of retail experience.
Getting to know our customers on a first name basis and developing a positive relationship and experience for them to come back and see us just to say hello.
A company that is family oriented, makes you feel at home every time you come to work.
    Exceptional training
    Advancement from within the company
I learn something new every day

    Cons

it can be stressful but I believe you will have that at any job. If you aren't used to fast paced and taking time for the details than this isn't the job for you. I really don't have any cons for working for David's Bridal.

I have been working at David's Bridal full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Fun environment, opportunities for growth, quality sale consultants can make around $45,000/ year.

    Cons

Typical retail hours, consultants can be caddy and competitive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Restructure pay scale. It is very hard to find quality employees at a minimum wage base pay.
