Best place/ company to work for

Banquet Server (Current Employee) Newport, RI

ProsI just started working here and every single team member has made me feel so welcomed! It's great to work for a company that appreciates it's employees. I love how the managers will point out when you are doing a good job and they recognize hard work. Also if you are not quite sure on how to do something the managers will teach you .

    ConsI HAVE NO CONS.
This is the best place to work for I love what I do!

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what your doing! It feels great to work for someone who appreciates what you do! This job has given me a change of heart and I now wish to go back to school for buisness/ hospitality

    Scheduling for Therapists

Massage Therapist (Former Employee) Newport, RI

ProsLocation has a great view of the water and sail boats, terrific sunsets

ConsVery bad system of scheduling. Senior therapists always get first priority until their schedule is filled then the secondary therapist gets filled then the third and so on and so on. There isn't any rotation of schedules. Third senior therapists rarely stay on because the winters are slow and very rarely get any bookings except for Saturdays. Management are in the dark as to what goes on between therapists

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider rotating schedules so newer employees can get a fair share of work. Even well seasoned therapists have a difficult time working there because of the preferred scheduling

Davidson Hotels & Resorts is a great company to work for and to work with.

Steering Team Member (Current Employee) Birmingham, AL

ProsForward thinking, concerned about taking care of the Guest, the Team Members and the Owners. Leader in their markets. Pin-point focus on full service hotel and F&B focus. It a family of hotel people... all the way up to the corporate level.

ConsThe Owners could sale a property and the new Owners may not choice Davidson. Sometimes the new owners do choose Davidson but sometimes we have to say good bye to a good property and the team members that work there and cannot relocate.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work.

    Human Resources is a joke

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Denver, CO

ProsGreat f&b team on the corporate level

ConsOne of the most unprofessional organizations I have ever worked for! Guilty regardless! HR lies and it is acceptable! Corporate gets involved with the gossip enabling bad behavior. No consistency in practices, you are treated according to who you are and your race.

Advice to Senior ManagementPractice what you preach! Listen to your people and demand facts, knowing that there are always at least two sides to every story

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

The hardest workers are at the bottom of the totem pole. Favoritism exceeds those who deserve the most.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsYou get discounts for hotels internationaly. There is a causal relationship between coworkers and friends which make it a fun place to work at. There was also a young work environment. The company values smiling and being at %100 %120 of the time.

ConsThe cons consisted of poor management. Plus the "higher ups" constantly looked down on other employees, bossing them around like they have no soul. Schedules were posted super late making it impossible to plan for the next two weeks. Different departments clashed constantly and there was always some argument up in the air.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay attention to those who work hardest and stay out of the spot light because those workers are compensating for the other 5 who are screwing around. Also there needs to be more room for personal growth so that one can actually go somewhere in the company.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
