I have been working at Davita Labs full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

At Davita Labs, the technical staff in the wet lab are very dedicated and care deeply about the dialysis patients!
Davita corporate and the lab have a great historical story..
Davita, the greater company, has meaningful mission and values.

    Cons

In the several years I've been at Davita, constant waves of terminations keep teammates insecure about their futures. Waves of terminations of great people have again happened this year.
HR leadership is incompetent, unprofessional and unfair from a fundamental level. Gossip prevails from the upper ranks.
Extreme favoritism seeps from the executive leadership. Of the 7 DLLS leadership development candidates, 5 were selected from the finance team and none from the Deland wet lab.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You should not have dismantled the Quality department. Without quality, you have no company!

I have been working at Davita Labs (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great Benefits, Corporate Company values

    Cons

People are being replaced constantly. Lack of respect for employees, company values not followed at all, fake "fun" environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote training. Master Control is worthless and you should hire more talented people to conduct in person training where employees could actually learn something instead of wasting time on Master Control training. Realize, that your head of People Services lowers the morale of this Lab on a daily basis. Very inexperienced, arrogant, treating employees like enemies. Reward employees for their hard work. Creating fake "fun" events won't fix the very low office morale. Start respecting your employees. Stop layoffs. It looks like you want to replace the whole office, not sure what is the reason for that. There is definitely a lack of trust of the upper management who doesn't seem to be very involved in every day life of the Lab.

I worked at Davita Labs as a contractor (less than a year)

    Pros

Old guard employees are eager to share their experience and sense of responsibility for the health of clients.

    Cons

Bought by a large company, there is a lot of bad blood between the long-term employees and the new management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work harder to maintain the commitment to family and teamwork that made DaVita a good place to work in the past by looping in the long-term employees--at all levels--to management decisions.

I worked at Davita Labs full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

An opportunity to be a citizen of the DaVita Village- absolutely awesome parent company!

Overall strong commitment to their company values- recently redone

Generally pleasant place to work- they are very careful to select employees who fit into the DaVita culture (which, if you're used to traditional employment settings, could take you aback a bit- it's very cultish in some ways, but it seems to work well for them).

Lots of opportunities for bonuses at multiple levels.

    Cons

The pay scale, at least for my position, was not in line with industry standards, even for DeLand. You wait for a year for a chance at bonuses.

The health insurance is less than stellar, particularly for a healthcare company.

At the upper levels, the pressure/stress is HUGE.

There is a new management team in place who are busy making changes- not a bad thing overall, but extremely hard to keep up with.

There is a feeling at the management level that you're expected to "live to work"- great if you like that atmosphere, not so much if you want to achieve some life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more supportive of mentoring new managers.

    Positive Outlook
