I worked at Davita Labs full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Mostly good teammates and benefits.

    Cons

Way too many changes in upper level directors/managers which contributes to lots of turnover in the past 5 years. Company offers 401k but does not match.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees. Mainly experienced, hard working ones. Live out the "core values" not just on paper.

I worked at Davita Labs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

was close to home - close to local food chains, able to watch Parachutists from the Perfect Spot . "Had" fun under old circumstances.

    Cons

Clueless management (especially at director levels). Very cliquish , arrogant, overall incompetent. Many often wondered how they got to management and/or director levels. They dis not support their subordinates when we were there. Sugar coated several major complaints that were brought up by the staff. general unhappy attitude loomed in many departments. much attrition of fantastic people (with good reason). They saw the light and writings on the wall. The HR staff for all intents and purposes were for the most part non caring or unreachable. We hear through the grapevine from current and past staff (not only from Deland, but from other sites as well) that a director of HR is useless and very incompetent not fit for the position. So sorry to hear that.. :(

    Advice to Management

Might want to evaluate who you have for management. access the the situautions at hand. Listen to your staff that have Unheard concerns. Open your eyes. be more proactive and attentive.

    Pros

Great building. Great co-workers. Lots of food. Lots of celebrations and activities. You can make the daily routine as fun as the work-load allows. The company's values and ideals are impressively good, although the execution is lacking. Great potential to become what the vision is.

    Cons

Management doesn't understand the true nature of the work and hence can't fix problems. "Expectancy" of overtime do not align with having a life. No good salaries. No 401K match because they give compensatory bonuses, but you have to live for the company to get a bonus. There is a loooot of work, but the weight of it is not fairly distributed, some employees have kind of a vacation in paradise (no pressure) while others are prisoners of the clock and the turnaround time and management enable this dynamic.

    Advice to Management

To find efficient ways to help employees you need to know 100% what the work is ALL about. (The only way of knowing is working as another employee....walk the walk!!)

I have been working at Davita Labs full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

At Davita Labs, the technical staff in the wet lab are very dedicated and care deeply about the dialysis patients! Davita corporate and the lab have a great historical story.. Davita, the greater company, has meaningful mission and values.

    Cons

In the several years I've been at Davita, constant waves of terminations keep teammates insecure about their futures. Waves of terminations of great people have again happened this year. HR leadership is incompetent, unprofessional and unfair from a fundamental level. Gossip prevails from the upper ranks. Extreme favoritism seeps from the executive leadership. Of the 7 DLLS leadership development candidates, 5 were selected from the finance team and none from the Deland wet lab.

    Advice to Management

You should not have dismantled the Quality department. Without quality, you have no company!
