I have been working at Daybreak Venture full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, support from administrator most of the time. Administrator and most staff truly care for the residents often going out of their way and spending out of their own pockets for some resin needs.

    Cons

Not enough hours budgeted for cnas or nurses to properly care for residents this comes from the corporate office mandates of how many staff we are allowed to run per patients per day. Pau in rural areas is not enough to keep quality staff. Pay increases freeze common. Census cuts results in
staff cut.which puts administrative staff on the floor more causing that work to fall behind resulting in more trouble. Poor morale. Cliques common

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop worrying ab out acquiring more corporate level staff and. New homes and start taking better care of what you have. Follow the company creed to do the right thing

    Pros

High level of control, down to earth corporate culture, money is important - but residents come first, wonderful corporate resources.

    Cons

Lower budget, hard to market for, census building very difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Higher marketing budget = higher census

I worked at Daybreak Venture full-time

    Pros

The facility I was at had a close-knit family feel. The employees were fairly loyal to each other.

    Cons

Average pay, poor benefits. Family medical coverage is through the roof! I was told I would have to wait a year before I could take paid vacation time, and was never sure just exactly how much time I was accruing, if any at all. They milk Medicare for every cent, very unethical practices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Start thinking about ethics.

    Pros

The first two RDOs that were my bosses were wonderful.

    Cons

In some cases, the budgeted hours of labor were not sufficient to take care of the residents or to get the job done; esp in problem fac.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your Administrators, because it is their license on the wall.
