    care about employees, never a dull moment, meet a lot of interesting people, employees are nice to work with

    managers can be rude, guests can demand for too cheap of discounts

    Friendly atmosphere, always meeting new interesting people

    No cons whatsoever, as stated before I am always meeting new people as well as building relationships with frequent returning guests.

    Don't be afraid of interacting with lower level management we are your front line.

    Co- Workers, customers and hours given.

    Cons

    No breaks or lunches until there are no customers. Base pay and management conflict.

    Pros

    >> It is a franchise company, so managers may very. The manager at my Hotel was very good about everything except when it came to asking for time off.
    >> 40% employee discount for any Wyndam hotel. (Days Inn, Super 8, Ramada, etc.)

    Cons

    >> It was very hard to schedule time off even when asked a month in advance.
    >> No benefits to my knowledge for front desk staff

    Talking with the guests and being able
    To help them
    With a room.

    Cons

    The owner was hard to deal with and made the job very difficult.

    Please before you hire someone for 40 hours make sure to give them that if you are guaranteeing it.

    Pros

    One direct supervisor, so that was at least consistent.

    Cons

    Quality was not a big enough priority. Housekeeping lacked essential supplies.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Put yourself in the place of the guest. Would you want to stay in rooms that are falling apart? Walk around on a mushy carpet? A little more focus on quality would go a long way.

    Pros

    The staff was really nice and inviting. That led to a good service environment for the guests as well.

    Cons

    This was my first job out of college, so I can't say too much surprised me. There was no health insurance benefits and it took a long time to gain any paid vacation, but it was offered.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Make sure your property owners take full advantage of their property. Don't let it fall apart and hire more help (maintenance and electrical).
