    Pros

Market leader and the 800 pound gorilla in trauma; working on improving efficiencies across franchises

Franchise based system removes customer from product franchise

    Pros

The money and nearly complete absence of personal accountability.

    Cons

Psychological disassociation from the goals of what a real job should be. That is - nothing you can do will result in accomplishing your goals because the credo will ultimately negate anything you hold dear.

    Advice to Management

Be realistic and exceed the departmental funding that you're being held to uphold for your op budget. You know as well as anyone else that nothing you do will really matter if you overspend. Give your people what they need to succeed today, because you'll only hurt yourself and everyone around you later if you don't risk everything. It's not YOUR money.

    Pros

Great working conditions, benefits, and pay. Overtime is available

    Cons

Better management-employee collaboration. Managers should actively listen more

    Advice to Management

    Take some courses

    Pros

Company products are well accepted by physicians and extensive product selection.

    Cons

24/7 365 days a year work. Trauma lifestyle is brutal and allows very little time to do anything other than work. Constant sales force and management restructuring.

    Advice to Management

Choose a business strategy and structure and stick to it. Stop changing the plan every 3 months.

    Pros

Johnson and Johnson is a good patent company name.

    Cons

Things are constantly changing and not for the better. Lots if disgruntled employees, but nothing is done about it.

It's unfortunate this use to be a great company to work at when it was Synthes.

    Pros

Good pay as a sales consultant. Great training the best in the industry for those that actually received training. If you want to get the best training in the industry it's the place to be.

    Cons

Your pay gets cut once to twice a year. Many consultants are carrying Spine and Trauma without actual training in both, usually just one or the other. Talented people are being restructured out. Credo is an illusion which really doesn't exist, its about Shareholder and nothing else. Innovation is not happening here.

  9. I have been working at DePuy Synthes

    Pros

Best products on the market especially with the release of the TFNA. Products are respected across the board

    Cons

Quality of life is extremely poor if you are working in trauma. Making all of the money in the world is pointless if you dont have time to spend it!

    Pros

Great compensation package, flexible work situations

    Cons

Big company corporate politics, too many cooks in the kitchen on most projects

    Advice to Management

Reward people for hard work instead of how many friends they make.

    Pros

Great work life balance, probably the best I have seen so far. Various projects and opportunities are available so it is good place for someone who likes to learn new things.

    Cons

Although being acquired by J&J, legacy employees still function the traditional way. Hopefully as years go by they would adopt J&J culture practically.
