    Pros

    -Excellent insurance benefits
    -Reputable name
    -Some positions are entry level
-Internal opportunities can be afforded to you
    -Nationwide location, large network
-Can "buy" time off once per year
-Referrals for hires get you cash bonuses if they stay with the company
-No commission, just hourly or salary pay
    -FlexWork is available

    Cons

-Takes too long to promote in most departments
-Pay increases when receiving promotions are not too substantial
-Does not take enough risks, always plays it safe
-Not a lot of opportunities for management if you don't like hard data and being held to tough metrics
    -Micromanaging is prevalent

    Advice to Management

You will most likely be micromanaged from the top coming down. There is not a lot of interdepartmental communication either, which makes things difficult at times. ADA's do a LOT of work on a salaried check that doesn't account for enough of the work they do.

    Pros

You are kidding me?! In the beginning everything seems great. A lot of support and excellent service to society and changing lives through education.

    Cons

After a while, the smog if lies disappear and you understand the true business side to the education factor. They truly should practice what they supposedly preach in accordance to their own benefit.
Micromanagement and fear producing tactics to generate more enrollments are at it's best!
Incompetent management and always bending their own policies.
If you dare to speak up- be ready to be written up or put in a plan
Chicago location run by all women- so prepare for drama and deceit all day long.
Best part of the job: their office is swarming with bed bugs.
Lol, enter at your own risk

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing so you can be shut down soon. No one should give their hard earned money to GREEDY for profit schools- so fingers crossed the society rids you if your unproductive scam of a brighter future to our young generation.

    Pros

Good benefits package, with some benefits at no cost for employee
Tuition assistance program for employees to earn a degree at no cost at DeVry Education Group schools
Very good flexibility and telecommuting options
Nice physical work environment (building, offices)
In the Downers Grove HQ, there is a small gym in the building
    Respectable brands within the industry
    Respectable, smart, and effective CEO

    Cons

    Vertical, no matrix structure
Almost no opportunities for career growth
    Micro management
    Sometimes work is not level-appropriate
    Politics politics politics
Little to no recognition from cross-functional colleagues
    Several unhappy colleagues/demotivating
At mid/lower management levels: reaction rather than planning

    Pros

Company is flexible. Has flex work options.

    Cons

Absolutely nowhere to go. Kind of a dead end job and they expect way too much out of you for what you get paid. Set ridiculous goals in order to get a promotion and the promotion amount is pretty pathetic.

    Advice to Management

Value your own employees more and invest in them some before buying up all those schools trying to expand.

    Pros

Management tries to make DeVry a good company with a good culture. CEO Hamburger basically saved the company from insolvency a few years back by diversifying its portfolio of schools -- moving into health care education and other education sectors.

    Cons

However, there are many pressures on management: decreasing enrollments and has led to tons of major lay-offs, and we're not out of the woods yet! Information systems, most notably the unbelievably lousy "thedevrycommons" website (which is for some reason managed by the former senior legal counsel?), are extremely cludgy and generic. DeVry's implementation of Remedy is atrocious, chock-full of inefficiencies, and has been for years and years. Departmental red tape makes getting things done difficult, exhausting, and sometimes completely impossible!

    Pros

Working for Devry Inc was a great experience to say the least. Exceptional leadership, training programs.

    Cons

The possibility of moving up in the company seemed to be a task and a half. The management that was around was exceptional and did not move out of their position for years.

    Cons

Cult culture, unqualified managers, micromanaging, favortisim, racisim, bad review process, cookie cutter approach to everything, pigeon holed, no advancement, price gauging studends with high tuition, high turnover, on and on and on...
