I worked at DeVry University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    flexible work schedule, employees, salary/benefits

    Cons

constant change, higher up management was heartless with employees during layoff

    Advice to Management

Don't lie to your employees, if you know trouble is in the pipeline, be up front and honest about what's going on and allow people to decide their future with your company. Don't promise something that you know you can not fulfill. Remain honest and ethical with salaries and increases. If a person meet and exceed requirements on their evaluations compensate them properly and don't change the pay matrix when its time for raises that ironically don't allow your employees to get increases. Finally, before you change something, give it ample time to work.

    Pros

There are several different pros. The first pro is that my boss is great and the second pro is that they will work around your school schedule. The third pro is that it is close and I enjoy what I am doing.

    Cons

There are several different cons as well. The first con is that there is not a lot of room for personal growth. The second con is that it is only part-time hours.

    Pros

Employees feel valued. Effective communication between the deans and professors. Open door policy therefore deans are very accessible to both students and staff. Always get feedback timely.

    Cons

Payroll dates previously very confusing but this has since been resolved and the structure in place is more appealing to adjunct faculty.

    Advice to Management

Devry Houston campus is a great place to work for. I am proud to be associated with this institution. Hopefully most people can change their preconceived ideas about online schools.
