I have been working at Deakin University part-time

    Pros

Easy going environment with friendly staff. Diverse range of jobs that you get involved in. All jobs are at university.

    Cons

There is only limited hours available and there is competition for the work with many other Casuals. There is a limited life in the role

I have been working at Deakin University full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Large and pleasant campus, good library, friendly associates. Uni finances are in good shape. Lots of emphasis on research.

    Cons

Heavy administrative overheads for academics, not very flexible in terms of workloads. At times it feels as if the Uni over-reaches itself.
