    Pros

30 percent off in store purchase and 50 percent plus 20 percent (not 70%) for online purchase to be honest after the discount there is nothing good about working for this company

    Cons

at the ugg australia store in woodbury you see many people come and go. its a small store where you only need about 20 people including management. the store manager and assistant manager are very disrespectful. the office door is paper thin so when they speak about people you can hear the whole converstation. its very sad. they are very unhappy people who work there and caused one assistant manager to quit and from the time i started up until today 13 people have quit. because of the way management treated them.

    Advice to Management

learn to treat people better and give them more respect. if you have a problem with someones work dont talk about them to regular employees just tell that person directly.

    Pros

employee discount if you got one, bonus if you got one

    Cons

poor communication from management. Evaluations are not given continuously, more is expected of us each day and management is never happy with the results. Lack of training.

    Advice to Management

Set some expectations for new employees coming in, train them well and they will make you successful. Executive management needs to pay more attention to the front line employees and what they do for Deckers Outdoor Corp, respect your employees.

I worked at Deckers Brands full-time

    Pros

Fast in Hiring. Went through 3 interviews with the department head, HR and director, got brought on board within a month.

    Cons

Fast in firing. Their lack of experience of training people, the incompetence of their department head. Had a very manipulative trainer who did not know how to train you, instead everything you did became wrong. Instead of giving you a little bit more time to learn everything, they fired you in 3 weeks. Among those 3 week I was sitting with different departments for 2 weeks so I really had been "trained" for a week, then they decided you were not a good fit and fired you.

    Advice to Management

Give people more time to learn your company, your culture, your system etc. before you made that cold blooded decision.

    Pros

The company seems to understand the necessity to have a work/life balance, they simply have not acheived it. A few of the people are a joy to be around.

    Cons

High turnover, lack of defined process for almost anything, large amount of people that will backstab and throw you under the bus in a heartbeat.

    Advice to Management

There are too many of you. About 10% of you are competent, the rest are just there with their feet kicked up completely full of themselves.

    Pros

The pay is good for a retail sales position.

    Cons

Management is a joke. Catty 40 somethings who have no business in leadership positions. For the entire time you're working, they're on your back. Let us breath and maybe we'd be a little more motivated to go "above and beyond". But they don't so we aren't. And that's just store management...it gets worse the higher up the ladder you go. This is hands down the worst job I've ever had!

    Advice to Management

Get out so competent people can take over.

I have been working at Deckers Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The only pro is the perks and they do well advertising them: generous employee discount on footwear, bikes available to go to the beach (as long as your supervisor doesn't make snide comments about your breaks), interesting seminars, and occasional free food.

    Cons

Promotions and hires are based more on "who you know" instead of actual skill sets. Company has an unrealistic outlook for future profits and expectations. Decisions made based on personal feelings and emotions instead of facts.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time vetting your potential management hires--supervisors don't seem to know what they're doing. Listen to more experienced employees even if they're not upper management.

I have been working at Deckers Brands full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Casual dress, product discounts, onsite cafe and gym - overall, it is a pleasant place to be.

    Cons

Virtually no opportunity for advancement - this is true for almost every department and level Senior Management is pretty checked out Compensation is not competitive They walk a lot of people out the door with no notice

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs to be more plugged into what is going on. Pay for performance and promote more from within.

    Pros

Great co-workers at the call center. You can get over time working for Deckers.

Over worked and Deckers can hire and fire at will. There is uncertainty for keeping a customer support job.

    Advice to Management
