Current Employee – been working at Deckers Outdoor full-time for more than a year
Pros – The only pro is the perks and they do well advertising them: generous employee discount on footwear, bikes available to go to the beach (as long as your supervisor doesn't make snide comments about your breaks), interesting seminars, and occasional free food.
Cons – Promotions and hires are based more on "who you know" instead of actual skill sets. Company has an unrealistic outlook for future profits and expectations. Decisions made based on personal feelings and emotions instead of facts.
Advice to Senior Management – Spend more time vetting your potential management hires--supervisors don't seem to know what they're doing. Listen to more experienced employees even if they're not upper management.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Pros – Great benefits, excellent working environment, great product, great people to work with and to work for, Travel.
Cons – Long hours, Average Salary, lack of resources
Advice to Senior Management – Departments need to grow as the company grows. A lack of resources to complete large projects is a serious problem.

Former Employee – worked at Deckers Outdoor
Pros – employee discount if you got one, bonus if you got one
Cons – poor communication from management. Evaluations are not given continuously, more is expected of us each day and management is never happy with the results. Lack of training.
Advice to Senior Management – Set some expectations for new employees coming in, train them well and they will make you successful. Executive management needs to pay more attention to the front line employees and what they do for Deckers Outdoor Corp, respect your employees.

Former Employee – worked at Deckers Outdoor
Pros – 30 percent off in store purchase and 50 percent plus 20 percent (not 70%) for online purchase to be honest after the discount there is nothing good about working for this company
Cons – at the ugg australia store in woodbury you see many people come and go. its a small store where you only need about 20 people including management. the store manager and assistant manager are very disrespectful. the office door is paper thin so when they speak about people you can hear the whole converstation. its very sad. they are very unhappy people who work there and caused one assistant manager to quit and from the time i started up until today 13 people have quit. because of the way management treated them.
Advice to Senior Management – learn to treat people better and give them more respect. if you have a problem with someones work dont talk about them to regular employees just tell that person directly.

Current Employee – been working at Deckers Outdoor
Pros – The pay is good for a retail sales position.
Cons – Management is a joke. Catty 40 somethings who have no business in leadership positions. For the entire time you're working, they're on your back. Let us breath and maybe we'd be a little more motivated to go "above and beyond". But they don't so we aren't. And that's just store management...it gets worse the higher up the ladder you go.
This is hands down the worst job I've ever had!
Advice to Senior Management – Get out so competent people can take over.
