    Pros

Good work life balance. Two hour extended lunch time seems very acceptable here. Staff often go to Vivo or Ikea for lunch for two long hours. Very good pay with not much work and with many bonuses. Good benefits like flexible benefits can claim travel, dental, etc.

    Cons

Lots of red tape. And restrictive policy like cannot bring ipad, laptop or thumb drive into office.

    Advice to Management

    Have less red tape.

I have been working at Defence Science & Technology Agency full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Exposure to different kinds of technology and military applications Colleagues are very willing to share knowledge and experience to solve problems Good starting pay good work life balance and plenty of welfare activities (eg Family day)

    Cons

There will always be a difference in grading and rewards system between scholars and non-scholars, regardless of level of contribution or experience. Pay becomes uncompetitive beyond the 7-8 year period.

    Advice to Management

Please show more appreciation to non-scholars. they do work equally hard for the same cause, even if they may not be as smart.

    Pros

Good starting salary in expensive Singapore for young graduate. Good career progression for identified scholars. Ok career progression for scholars. All with the caveat that the scholars follow ALL protocols and do things the way that our ancestors have always done. Super good work life balance! All life and no/some work (work is available seasonally)

    Cons

Don't expect to get the same salary when you leave after a few years without any knowledge of the outside world and asking for matching or higher salary. Took ~35% pay cut when I left. There is no difference between you and a high paid clerk. Red tape and lengthy process of clearing forums of any real work will take a toll on those keen to learn and develop professionally. For farmers, stay and you will eventually be part of the furniture. Career progression based on merit does not applies.

    Advice to Management

Fix everything to retain talent and keep the young ones engaged.
