I have been working at Defense Contract Management Agency full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedules, Telework available, two hours authorized time for physical fitness per week available , opportunities for advancement (if mobile).

    Cons

Programs are slow and outdated, training programs are not efficient (you have to find someone knowledgeable who is willing to take you under their wing to really learn), no emphasis on learning each other's roles (each department has their own goals) so working together really isn't a priority,

    Pros

Great opportunities exist for high school/college graduates. Keystone Intern program excellent for promotional advancement with management support!

    Cons

Working with less knowledgeable personnel can sometime slow your growth potential during your initial Job training and development!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage employees to aim for the highest level possible even if that means that they will exceed the position that you now occupy! You never know the employee may someday reward you for your support!

    Pros

As perhaps will all federal government jobs, the best part is work-life balance and compensations. Lots of time off--including all federal holidays--and generous vacation and sick leave as well.

    Cons

Very slow pace and poor opportunity for meaningful growth. Good job for those prioritizing job security and low stress.

I have been working at Defense Contract Management Agency full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Entry-level in the Keystone program have a great salary opportunity to gain working level pay within 2 years. Keystone training pertains to implementing agency policy and will not enhance their technical experience Beyond college education.

    Cons

The only advancement for the working level is to leadership but there's too many lead/supervisor/manager already.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize and provide advancement for the technical experienced working level without emphasizing leadership there are too many leads assigning work to an army of one.
