  7. It's like any starter job, good to begin with but not worth being a long term job.

I have been working at Del Taco full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Since it's not as big a company as most other fast foods you are less staffed so you learn how to master every position quite quickly so you are constantly moving around if you prefer a fast paced job.

    Cons

Not much benefits are offered, you sometimes get up to only 2 hours a day, sometimes focus more on labor and speed rather than food quality.

  8. Typical fast food experience

    I worked at Del Taco

    Pros

You get to learn exactly how decisions about your food are made and perhaps even where it comes from! There is a lot of parking

    Cons

A very corporate office environment in which employees are not really valued. High turnover and struggle to meet investor expectations.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your people and trust in them and you will succeed. Also focus on the ethics of food procurement even if it comes at a high cost.

    I worked at Del Taco

    Pros

    Free and 50% off meals.

    Cons

I worked there for 15 months, within that time. I was promoted from team member to shift manager then to general manager. I had HORRIBLE training, basically no training. This company hires illegals! 90% of the staff only spoke Spanish, which made my job and everyone else's job extremely difficult. My supervisor and the owner did not care. There theory was that it didn't matter because Mexicans work hard. They did indeed, but communication was very limited. Pay sucks! Worked 6-7 days a week. I mentioned I was a General Manager and I wasn't receiving any benefits. NONE! There was way too much drama between management and worse on team member levels. I've never worked for such a horrible company before. They also had no training implented, so all new hires were literally thrown into work with very little to no training. I would not recommend this place for employment, only if you're looking for a quick paycheck.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

*Implement a training program for new hires and promotions.
*Hire people who either speak English or are bilingual.
*If benefits come with a promotion, give it to them. Don't keep putting it on the back burner.
*Implement a reward system, "thank you" is not enough these days. Especially for the hard work good employees put in.
*Actually follow the "3 write-ups and your out" policy. ( I knew a manager with over 12 write-ups)
*You should probably hire ONLY legals, this will catch up to you one day.
*Great business starts with great upper management.
