I have been working at Dell full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great career development and career path options. Dynamic, exciting work environment. Solid leadership who communicates frequently and effectively. Great people to work with. Excellent salary and benefits.

    Cons

Most managers are great. Some, however are not! Your team will only be as good as it's leadership...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage managers to frequently reach out to their employees and to put emphasis on being a coach and not a task-master...the results will be far greater!

    Pros

Great for trying new skills, meeting new people, taking on a leadership role.

    Cons

Not so great when you aren't consulted about what you want to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To avoid the "square peg/round hole" problem, it is best to include the employee in the conversations before the changes.

I have been working at Dell full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Established benefits. There's a policy and procedure in place for everything.

    Cons

There are too many policies and procedures for too many things. This slows down innovation. The company is still focused on Hardware, and Software seems to be the ugly stepchild.
There are no "fun" things happening, and no teamwork culture is created/established. More emphasis is put on adding more managers, while at the same time reducing headcount lower down the ladder. Top-heavy company.
