    Advice to Management

Salaries aren't keeping up with the Market. At least not in the North East.

I worked at Dell full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, but carried over from PerotSystems. I enjoyed working for Dell, then I saw how they handled me when they laid me off. They said you are a great employee, nothing you did, BUT we are cost cutting. Do they realize what happens to people's lifes at that point....I had a son in college and a grandaughter I was trying to support.

    Cons

They don't care who they let go, just as long as the budget gets cut.Once they acquired PerotSystems they came in and laid off loads of good hard working employees that really knew there jobs. All of these jobs were filled with associates from India. You cannot take 20+ years of experience and load it into somebody in a day. Very sad the unemployment rate in R.I. is high, and alot of those employess were laid off from Dell.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting go of the SME's.....these are the people that keep the work going. They are smart dedicated employees, what is senior management thinking?? Maybe someone needs to focus on them!

    Pros

Perot systems was a good place to work. The history of the company and the rate at which Ross Perot grew the company was impressive. I was outsourced to Perot and the experience working for Perot was not bad at all.

    Cons

There was no room for growth in the technical line. After being in perot for 5.5 years, did not get an opportunity to grow at all.

    Advice to Management

create enough heirarchy in the technical groups so that people can aspire for growth.

  11. Dell Services has not changed the way associates are compensated or the culture of the acquired Perot accounts

    Pros

Dynamic environment if you are not worried about being laid off because your job is outsource to India

    Cons

The creation of Dell Services which includes the acquisitions of Perot Accounts has not provided much change to the way the current account's culture or improved communications and employee recognition and raises as it was with Perot

    Advice to Management

Take the opportunity to embrace the Dell Culture and provide associates more opportunities for advancement. Communicate to all levels not just Management who does not communicate down. It is not Perot anymore
