Cons

Need to be very shrewed to survice in this organisation - ie you cannot be naive about anything around you
Advice to Senior Management
Need to understand that the people are the main assets of the firm and need to take care of them well.
There is a lot of lip service tha happens here which everyone knows.
Pros
Deloitte was full of talented individuals, with diverse work to engage in, a big pipeline of projects, established methodologies that we readily able to be applied.
Cons
This wasn't exactly what i signed up for. As a consultant, you are assigned to projects based on business needs, not on your skills and abilities. There is a lack of focus on assigning the right talent to the right projects, and the individuals suffer as a a result. Deloitte regularly indoctrinates that they only hire the best and brightest, so that leaves little comfort level for individuals to address their dissatisfaction with the "system." People basically then "take it on the chin" until they are simply ready to walk out the door. Lacking in strategic work and skills, even though they advertise that they are one of the biggest in the market for such expertise.
Advice to Senior Management
Get more involved in what the day-to-day of consulting is for your teams. Pitch and price the engagements properly so they are adequately staffed. Don't let your underbidding of the projects come out of the backs of your hard-working employees, take it off your profitability lines. Attrition will be hitting hard, and sooner than you know, if you don't start taking care of your people. Your best and brightest WILL leave if they continue to burn at the rates they are.
Pros
Good commercial experience and smart people
Cons
Top heavy with too many partners and directors
Advice to Senior Management
Need to remove the top heavy structure of the coy
Pros
Friendly and smart people to work with, learn a lot, good support for CA. A good way to start your career and good for the resume.
Cons
If you want Deloitte expect to find poor senior management, arrogance, low pay and high hours. Is really quite the same as other firms even though its branded as being different.
Pros
Although I have only recently joined Deloitte, I have been really happy so far with the role that I am performing, the people I am working with and the opportunities that have arised. Deloitte allows me to innovate and add value whilst providing me with the support to do so. I feel that I am recognised for the hard work I put in and the ideas that I put forward. Furthermore, my team have been very supportive in ensuring that my work-life balance is balanced!
The leadership at Deloitte is very open and they do a great job communicating changes and inititatives to the organisation so you always feel included and as though you are an integral part of the organisation.
Lastly, Deloitte is really great about open communication when it comes to moving around within the organisation, they don't want you to get bored in your role and support you if you want to explore internal opportunities. This is really refreshing and is true to one of their values, to recruit and retain the best.
Cons
Working in a partnership is a little different to working in a publicly listed organisation so there is a hierarchy, it is imperative that you make the right impression on the right people but I think that this is the same anywhere.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep doing what you are doing and find new ways to do it even better!
Pros
Management Consulting arm is very strong. Breadth and depth of opportunities great. Work with some highly talented and intelligent people.
Cons
Across management consulting work life balance is a challenge - and it's no different here. Travel demands within Australia can be excessive.
Advice to Senior Management
Get the work life balance thing right - or you will struggle with the upcoming talent shortage ... Pay and hours do not compare favourably with industry.
