I worked at Deloitte
Pros – Probably the best of the big fours to work for. They emphasize diversity... a lot but my group wasn't really diverse at all. Many of the other groups were diverse but they make it really hard to change groups and industries, that's a down fall.
Cons – Besides having many projects, there were times when you have to drive 2-3 hours to see clients. The drive alone makes you really tired. Where is the energy to work? Senior Management gave all their work to consultants. And when there were issues, a lot of the blame were past onto consultants to partners. Seniors only worked to chat with clients and review some of the consultants work.
Advice to Senior Management – Senior Management gave all their work to consultants. And when there were issues, a lot of the blame were past onto consultants to partners. Seniors only worked to chat with clients and review some of the consultants work.

I worked at Deloitte
Pros – Deloitte offers great exposure to all sorts of clients once you're out off college. However as you progress through your career you'll find yourself being overqualified for many positions (expecially manager level and above). Deloitte offers comparable benefits to those seeking a stable job. Depending on your office, you'll meet all kinds of people, most of them enjoyable. Trainings and the big 4 name gives you a pretty good career boost overall (that is if you're aiming for a future in the Accounting industry). Pretty good airline miles and hotel points I must add if you're traveling a lot. d
Cons – Not enough focus to entry-level folks. Deloitte brands its image as being people centric but in reality it's all about the bottom line: keeping in line with partner's profits. When layoffs come, partners will care less about how much you've spend working and contributing to the firm and start switching into office politics to determine whether you should stay or not. If you're looking for achievement and career growth, you'll find yourself ending up in a pretty narrow corridor (as you can see from their retention rate). I'd say, get a couple of years down your belt and get out ASAP.
Advice to Senior Management – Take more time in investing on those with potential and put more emphasis on your own people. If you want to trim down cost, take away the unnecessary retreats, club meetings and programs (intern conferences).

I worked at Deloitte
Pros – Great place to launch a career, compensation is excellent for just starting out. You'll work with very smart people and training opportunities and internal knowledge sharing resources are excellent. High emphasis on networking and business relationships.
Cons – Hours are rough, work life balance is hard to come by. There's a lot of competition for promotion, can be cutthroat. Your project is only one of the many things you'll be working on at any given time.
Advice to Senior Management – Consider your team members personal lives when you commit to deliver a solution in 6 months that should take a year.

I have been working at Deloitte
Pros – Brand recognition. # of PTO days is good, if you ever get to use it or are not penalize for using it.
Cons – Long hours, as expected. Lack of work life balance and TRUE support of it. If you're not a manager or above, don't expect to have it your way.
Advice to Senior Management – Past debacle of lack of news from lay-offs are being improved upon. Please be more transparent or it will come back to bite you in the future. You'd better believe it that word of mouth news spreads pretty fast and wide.

I worked at Deloitte
Pros – Great opportunities. Good exposure. One of the best names in the industry.
Cons – Hierarchial. Lowballing while recruiting new talent.
Advice to Senior Management – recognize and promote talent and experience accordingly.

I worked at Deloitte
Pros – 1. Reputation: Looks good on your resume
2. People: Generally capable and nice to work with
3. Experience: Exposure to a wide range of projects
4. Flexibility: To a certain extent, more so for managers and above, you can create your own brand image and do what you are passionate about, as long as you are making $$$ for the firm
Cons – 1. Compensation: At or below industry average, bonus is a joke
2. Career Advancement: It’s extremely difficult to get prompted to partner. There is a huge backlog of Sr. Managers in most practice areas.
3. Favoritism: If you have a powerful partner as your sponsor and are part of his network, then you will be given the right projects and are more likely to get promoted.
4. Work Life Balance: The bottom line is that you are committed to 100% travel and you will get staffed where you can make $$$ for the firm. When you are on a project, you are expected to bill at least 45 hours/week, excluding any administrative tasks and forced firm activities.
Advice to Senior Management – None

I have been working at Deloitte
Pros – Riding the waves of the Deloitte brand. This company is a great place to tell people you work and many people find it impressive you work there.
Cons – Deloitte knows they are a good company, so leverages that to treat their employees poorly. It's the, "we know we are great, you should be honored to work for us" mentality. The time commitment employees must undertake is often relentless and it comes without ANY recognition and financial incentive. Additionally, the review process takes entirely too long and is not beneficial when it even comes. Clients are scare and work is few and far between. It's not the good ole days like it once was.
Advice to Senior Management – Treat your employees better with up-front, honest feedback to show recruits, and employees the true life that is Deloitte.

I have been working at Deloitte
Pros – --Good benefits
--24 days PTO
--Looks great on resume
--A lot of networking opportunities
--If you're consistently good and very very...very patient, you will be rewarded for it. But meanwhile, your equivalents in other firms may be making %30-%40 more than you are, you'll have to be patient.
Cons – --Terrible pay
--Degree of politics - it's tough to be noticed and persuade the management that you're up for the task. If you're an associate, you should "behave" like an associate, no matter how talented you may be. This will slow down your growth, this will decrease your exposure.
Advice to Senior Management – They should treat Associates better.
