    Pros

The single biggest advantage of a large company is resources — of all kinds. Money-wise, while large companies do generate a lot of overhead, they also have the money to cover it. That manifests itself in all sorts of ways. If business slows down, you still get your wage at the end of the month.

    Cons

With all of those resources and processes come bureaucratic red tape. You’ll have a tough time having any ideas heard, let alone ones that are outside your pay grade that you think might improve “the company” as a whole. The larger a company gets, the more risk-averse it becomes — deviation from standardised practices is rarely tolerated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Even in the hardest moments, like letting someone go, treat all your employees with kindness and dignity. You have the power in this relationship, and that comes with the responsibility of exercising it with reason and decency.

    Pros

Everyone is very helpful and easy to work with, you can move up relatively quickly, Great Resume builder, health and fitness subsidy

    Cons

Work-life balance doesn't exist, ability to transfer between career paths is close to impossible, they under compensate their employees especially for the number of hours worked, for new hires they discriminate based off of what college you attended, very poor 401k match

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat everyone equally, allow employees to choose which career path they want to take, increase compensation closer to the market average.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Learn alot about current technologies
    - Hands on in all phases of the SDLC
    - Experience gives you a phenomenal resume
    - You have a lot of celebration dinners

    Cons

    - You never see friends or family
    - Have to work holidays (and do not get a bonus for it)
    - Project Associates do more than Consultants but get no credit or financial rewards
    - If you become good at something you are expected to work at all hours of the day to meet the projects needs
    - Baseline hours become 60 -70 hours a week
    - If you want a raise you have to threaten to quit or have a job offer
    - Attrition

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Increase the pay of employees who work hard, have a high business/client value, and who fixed complex system issues.
    - Promote an environment where employees who are not travelers can see their friends and family regularly
    - Have bonuses for individuals who work holidays.
    - Listen to employees who are asking for more money.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Signing Bonus: You get a decent signing bonus right out of college, but after the increased tax rate the bonus will be half of what you actually get. Overall, the pay is fairly low for the Associate model considering the hours which are expected without overtime pay.

Benefits: The overall benefit Package is pretty good. The 401K could be better.

    Cons

Work Life Balance: There isn't any. Deloitte calls it Work/Life Fit, because you would need a battering ram to fit all of the expectations into a 24 hour day.

Compensation: It is really not competitive (for recent college grads) for the track you are in. It causes one of the following things to happen:
    1. You find a better job and move on.
    2. You are able to make the switch to the consulting model, where the salaries ranges are better.
    3. You have enough value, that you force them to pay you a competitive salary.

Promotions: Promotion in your career and promotion on the project are two different things. You can run the project, yet still be at an entry level position in your career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Simplify the process to switch tracks within the firm.
    2. Improve the compensation for the Associate model or Improve the work life balance.
    - You should not be expected to work like a consultant, but not be paid like it.

Life is hell here, stupid managers

Current Employee - Consultant in Camp Hill, PA
Current Employee - Consultant in Camp Hill, PA

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You will experience extreme bad and unprofessional environment.
You will come to know even such stupid people can be manager, just because he is having some domain knowledge.
You will get some good feeling by seeing contractor is treated even worst and feel at least you are treating better.

    Cons

You will compelled to work in more than 15 hours a day, manager will calculate how much you have to sleep . almost all Saturdays and Sundays... they will expect for. If they know the logic of some code they will say it is 5 min job and check your status in every 10 min. you will have to give excuse for leaving office at 8 PM .. like please let me go I have to for some shopping, and all people will look at you like you got change to leave in half time.
All people who is working here either searching for other job or knows he can not get anything in market and have to survive here and do some politics, such type of person will show to management like you are stupid and he is genius, and management promote such person as management might know he can not leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire some good manager from market with good management skill.
    Treat people like humans.
