I have recently returned to Deloitte after several years away.

    Tax Director (Current Employee)
    Los Angeles, CA

ProsAfter experiencing what life at a mid-tier firm is life like, I better appreciate what a brand can do.

ConsSome of the frustrations still exist, but still think it is a great place for me to continue to grow my career.

Good resume builder, but at the cost of friends and your life

    Audit Senior (Current Employee)
    Los Angeles, CA

Pros-You learn alot (however if you do anything for 15 hours a day you are bound to learn something)
    -Good resume Builder
    -Work with intelligent people
-You will not go hungry since they keep you well fed so you can keep working

Cons-Busy season is a myth, it is no longer a 3 month period, its a minimum of 9 months depending on your clients and their year ends.
-Absolutely no work life balance, and will severely restrict when you can take your PTO.
-While individual partners are typically very friendly, management could not care less about you and will mandate terminations if their profitability drops below a certain level. This leaves those who are left to pick up the leftover work

Advice to Senior ManagementFind a way to ensure equal distribution of workload among employees, rather than drowning some while others coast by.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    There's no place like Home!

    Administrative Assistant (Current Employee)
    Los Angeles, CA

ProsThis company is very different as it has it's own unique culture. There is a lot of diversity here within the firm and flex programs that allows it's employees to pursue personal goals (as becoming a parent and working flexible hours as well as professional goals which allows employees the opportunity to study for CPA exams and other courses while still working. A specific personality type will appreciate working for this firm...one that has a lot of enthusiasm, determination and drive. Three words that describes the culture here: vibrant, diverse, and enthusiastic.

ConsEmployees here tend to work too many hours which takes time away from personal life activities. Also, the potential for growth within this firm is limited. If you are not a professional who has gone to school for accounting, there is no ladder of success to climb, even with a degree (I am specifically referring to administrative roles as executive or administrative assistant. I have received a bachelor and master's degree while working at this company and I have yet to have found something that can help develop my career. Not many opportunities are given to those who have come from an administrative background which I feel is disheartening.

Advice to Senior ManagementCreate a "step up" plan for those in administrative positions who have taken the time to go back to school for degrees(s) in order to enhance career.
