    Pros

Unique opportunities available within the firm. There are so many offices all over the world so chances to transfer offices. Relatively flexible schedule with plenty of paid time off

    Cons

Your satisfaction widely varies depending on the project and team. Project evaluations are done by the people above you in the team.

I have been working at Deloitte (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Colleagues and great work culture. Very flexible for females and accommodating to various cultural beliefs. Good compensation and focus on growth.

    Cons

Too much emphasis on irrelevant firm activities . I really like firm activities that grows the Deloitte market share, but not the ones that generate no revenue and stresses out our practitioners .

    Advice to Management

Reduce firm activities and consider leveraging one Deloitte more effectively.

    Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of benefits, some only if you can find them because they're not advertised. No matter what part of the company (I worked in Services, not Client facing) it does look really good on a resume. It really gave me lessons in how to "business speak" and identify who was good and bad.

    Cons

You are not allowed to experiment. You are not allowed to expand. You are held very rigidly to your specific duties. I wanted to add some audio to a presentation. I was not allowed to because "we have a team for that, that's not your job." Didn't matter that whatever teams did the specialized work were both overworked AND had no way to add your work to their queue. Basically, the ONLY people on the Services side who get ANY respect are those who manage: Manage teams of "drones" doing the actual work, or for the flashy people, those who manage other companies they've contracted to do actual work. And the management across the country (and world, if you count the India offices working for Deloitte US) only respects sucking up. You DO NOT challenge your management. You do anything outside of what they demand. If you do, they will have HR also sucking up to them to run you out. I've seen it too many times to count in the many years I was there. In several teams: (IT, Office Services, Admin, Finance, etc.) where the problem is always elsewhere, and the few employees who actually do real work are micromanaged to robotic level efficiency. Fail to meet the impossible goals, and you will get lousy year end reviews. Succeed in the LETTER of the goals but not the implied goals, and you get lousy year end reviews. Succeed in all your goals, but be your own person instead of a manager brown noser, and get a lousy year end review. Unless you, on your own time, go around the office to chat with people from other departments, you will never find opportunities to advance, or even go sideways. You will honestly never know what anyone else actually DOES in the company, because your own management either doesn't know themselves or will not tell you because you belong to them, and them only.

    Advice to Management

In Services, Flush out everyone from a Manager level or higher (and Supervisors who've been stuck in the roles for over a year), and get people who actually MANAGE instead of point fingers and say it's someone else's job. Let employees experiment and fail so they can actually grow instead of stagnate or quit.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Many career opportunities opens up after working with Big 4 firm such as Deloitte. You get to work with a lot of people internally at the firm, as well as networking with clients - which then become your potential employer! (If there is no non-competing agreement)

    Cons

Lack of work/life balance - management will push you and get as many hours out of you to make the client happy.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with employees to make sure skillets and interest are in alignment with the assignments that are staffed.

    Pros

The people you work with are mostly great. Deloitte try's harder than most to make the best out of traditional management consulting.

    Cons

The work is not always that interesting that and the constant travel is why they pay you more money than other companies. When it is time to leave, leave on your own terms. I tried to give them advance notice so that I wouldn't get staffed and then leave a week into a new project. But in the end of the day, they screwed me over. My advice to you...give your two weeks and keep your intentions close to your vest.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how you want people to leave on a good note. The Alumni network doesn't work well if people do not leave on a good note.
