It brought much knowledge and experience for me, developing my skills.

Audit Assistant (Former Employee) Manchester, England (UK)

    Pros-team-work approach
    - excellent training
    - work with global clients
    - it is a multinational company that values the entrepreneurial spirit and appreciates the talents of its employees

    Cons-overload of work
-sometimes tough deadlines, and stressful situations.
    - Deloitte can move you to some international project, and it might be difficult for some people to balance their family and work life.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe management of the company can still fight against the new green paper, as it will change the whole structure of audit, and accounting industry. Overall, I am satisfied with the management of Deloitte and its business approach.

    good but frustrating

Database Administrator (Current Employee) Manchester, England (UK)

    Pros- excellent pay
    - good HR staff
    - great on CV
    - good socials (especially the Christmas party)
    - some perks

    Cons- no work life balance
    - spiders in the reception area
    - very hierarchical work culture, trainees not allowed to talk to senior management without written permission from HR

Advice to Senior Managementthe snacks offered in the tea room could do with a serious revamp, mcvities have recently been replaced by fox mints under pressure from mckinsey, not a good move.

looks good on resume, but may lead to frustration

Tax Associate, GES (Former Employee) Manchester, England (UK)

    Pros-Development of technical skills.
    -Option to buy extra holidays.
    -Recognizable brand name.

Cons-Was promised a 'buddy' and lunchtime training when offered the position, however none of these things were ever provided.
-Feedback is subjective and mostly related to character traits rather than technical skills.
    -No room for creativity.
-Management and above did not ask for feedback, ignoring the opinions and needs of new hires.
-Over worked - long hours are expected.
-No exam support. Had exams and was told to do overtime.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to listen to people or you will lose them to other firms.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Dont work here if you have any kind of social life....even a glimmer!

Audit Associate (Former Employee) Manchester, England (UK)

ProsLooks good on CV and salary is good compared with other accountancy programmes.
Working out at clients (away from the office).

ConsOvertime is expected as given, irrespective of commitments outside of work whether it be study, exams, or surprising to many senior staff....a social life.

Alot of travel and away jobs, on average 10 days a month.

Within the office environment people are rude and ignorant and many will not say 'hello' as you walk by. Many people do not possess social skills especially senior management.

Advice to Senior ManagementRespect lower grades of staff and appreciate hard work and good work. Dont take overtime as given without reimbursing their efforts.

The cut throat exam policy means you are playing with people's careers. Give the support and mentoring that you market in your graduate brochure!

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
