    Senior Consultant

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsTime-off policies. 5 paid weeks off a year.
    Projects are exciting and challenging
Co-workers are great and very good

ConsWork-life balance, always on the road Monday- Thursday

Advice to Senior ManagementUpper management have a number of initiatives underway and they do a great job communicating those. At times though, it feels like what they are preaching is not really practiced on the projects

    Opportunity at a cost

Audit Senior Assistant (Second Year) (Current Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsGreat opportunity to learn and grow as an individual in a face-paced environment. Great opportunity to build connections in the professional community.

ConsNo work-life balance. If you were to ensure a life outside of work, you paid for it in performance reviews and promotion salaries. They anticipate your work will be life, and that you will live for the sake of promoting Deloitte when they do little in return for you.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork-life balance. Respect your employees and respect that we all have live's outside of work.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

    Great Company

Consulting Senior Manager (Current Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsDeloitte is without a doubt one of the best environments to enhance your skills and grow your career. The PTO policy is one of the best in the industry.

ConsThey expect a lot out of you. There is no free ride at Deloitte. At any given time, you have many masters.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would suggest enforcing the work/life balance instead of just promoting it throughout the company.

Poor work life balance, excellent variety of work and caliber of coworkers.

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsIf you like to be challenged, fast paced, thinking on your feet. Excellent compensation and benefits; some autonomy over your work schedule.

ConsWorked lots of weekends, away on travel four days of every week,

Advice to Senior ManagementNo real option for telecommuting or balancing onsite client work with virtual teamwork as appropriate -- that's just silly in this day and age. Of course partners are going to want to do things the way they've always done them; and of course you are going to keep losing talent to better work-life balance.

    Shared Services Group

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsGreat reputation, salary and benefits, highly skilled and educated peers and challenging opportunities.

ConsFlexible working mother only applies to certain groups and entities, the ability to work from home is limited if allowed, too many Partners/Principals/Directors on one's plate.

Advice to Senior ManagementConsider hiring another person to support Partners/ Director/ Principals before promotions take place.

Best projects, high-caliber people, exhausting hours and expectations

    Manager (Former Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsSmart people and great opportunities to learn.

ConsUnrealistic demands of time and never-ending work days.

Advice to Senior ManagementHolding promotions back creates angst. Review process is destructive.

    Deloitte Entry Level

Advisory Consultant (Current Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsSmart, driven colleagues, variety of POTENTIAL clients/issues to gain exposure from, good work flexability

ConsNo bonus until Sr. Consultant, heavy travel, slow promotion/salary increases, lots of "potential" to do cool things dangled in front of you, but chances of doing them are slim unless recognized by upper management

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to retain your talent more, I see too many smart experienced people leave frequently.

    Great place to work.

Tax Manager (Former Employee) Minneapolis, MN

ProsOpportunity abounds if you are good at what you do. In tax, they even encourage everyone to travel to the India office for 3 weeks to a couple months to work with co-workers in that location.

ConsEveryone is very good, so some people just don't get the opportunities they would like.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend
