Good company to get some experience for a couple of years and launch your career...

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood experience, good exposure, although it depends on the country. I was in audit and I learned the basics of audit at Deloitte.

ConsVery low salaries, hard to transfer internally, no work-life balance... Also, management is very stingy and would much rather let you leave before the end your one month notice period just to save on your salary!!

Advice to Senior ManagementYou grow with your employees, if you don't invest in them and instead count every dollar u spend and focus on saving (especially in Lebanon!!) then your reputation will be ruined. Also, focus on building your own business model, don't copy the model of your competitor! I've worked at 3 different Big 4 firms, and I can tell you for certain that being #1 in terms of revenue doesn't mean you won, it's forgotten once you lose it, but the quality of your products is what u'll be remembered for and honestly your products' quality is subpar compared one other competitor and that is why to me you are not the #1 firm!

Good variety of work, but stressful.

    Senior Manager (Current Employee)
    London, England (UK)

ProsConsiderable variety of work. Ability to work with intelligent skilled people.

ConsLong hours, lots of stress and very poor bonuses. Certainly not a long term option unless you make it to partner where the real money kicks-in. I would suggest working in investment banking if you want the best return for your hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage staff to leave at a reasonable hour. How can you expect anyone to have a decent quality of life doing 15 hour days & regular weekends?

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

It was a great experience. Learnt a lot!

    Summer (Former Employee)
    London, England (UK)

ProsAmiable environment. Professional. People respect each other,

ConsBit stuck up attitude from some staff, but in general, it was an easy going society

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

Solid experience, good people but lots of politics

    Senior Consultant (Current Employee)
    London, England (UK)

    ProsVariety of projects, clients
    Smart and hard working people
    Feeling of community
    Manageable work life balance
    Competitive in a good way
Distinct career path and good exit opportunities
    Challenging projects

ConsExperience in teams isn't consistent, all based on luck and network in terms of who you work with
Quite a lot of internal politics
Reward / incentives could be better aligned to effort
    No MBA sponsorship
Can't get away from tedious, boring tasks even at more senior levels but that's reality of consulting
Travel can be challenging if you aren't up for it

Advice to Senior ManagementBuild more opportunities for professional development outside typical project work, e.g. sponsored degrees, secondments, etc.
Become more transparent in terms of performance management processes to take out the element of politics

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great for development, challenging assignments and bright colleagues

    Internal - L&D (Current Employee)

ProsDevelopment opportunities, excellent brand and market respect, young bright hard-working colleagues

ConsDrive to be a distinctice firm in every aspect but pay strategy is to pay mid-band with very, very low bonuses - how is this distinctive? how does this attract/retain the best? Partners are overpaid- highest paid in big 4 which creates challenges at lower levels.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up talent focus and brand positioning but seriously review your pay

Prosgreat variety of work - learn something new everyday, steep learning curve

Consconsulting generally involves lots of travel, and there is no shortage here

Big Company with "OK' work culture

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsReputation
    Travel opportunities
Opportunities to become more informed on other businesses and industries depending on the position

    ConsWork culture
    Salary compensation
    Instances of back biting
    Bureaucracy
    Overly structured work growth
    Work politics

Advice to Senior Management- Retain employees (meaning reduce employee turnover)
    - Improve performance rating if hiring from a broad field
    - Be more honest with employees

Great clients, but too much internal competition and politics.

    Manager (Former Employee)
    London, England (UK)

ProsOpportunity to work with great clients, loads of training available, you work with some remarkable people

ConsToo sales-driven, visible disregard with project delivery quality. Very political, people talk about you in your back instead of providing you direct and honest feedback (as is usual practice in similar consulting organisations)

Advice to Senior ManagementStop internal politics. Having worked at other consulting firms before, I have found Deloitte to be too political for my liking

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
