    Pros

Excellent professional development opportunities. Smart people and intellectually stimulating work. Excellent support system and endless resources. 24/7 tech support. Endless opportunities if you are willing to fight for them and stand out in the best of the best.

    Cons

You are always in a highly competitive position so everyone is constantly trying to 'outshine' each other. There is no such thing as work/life balance. White collar slavery. Overabundance of staff with narcissistic personality disorder.

    Advice to Management

Stop selling the client an unrealistic work plan that results in staff working like animals.

    Pros

Brilliant teams, stretching limits, telecommuting possible from anywhere. Fascinating projects. Could be the best place to work.

    Cons

360 reviews are full of "IT" can be very political, despite lack of true work ethics. Managers don't always play by the rules with underlings, shifting workloads to them, etc. Friends one makes are rare when it comes down to the line.

    Advice to Management

Stop the silly HR analysis and judge on work accomplished in such short turnarounds along with streamlining and out of the box creative solutions.

    Pros

Plenty of training opportunities at your fingertips Worldwide name recognition Really smart people Teaches you how to network

    Cons

Work for junior practitioners (analyst, consultant, senior consultant) is slightly insulting (e.g. taking minutes, booking rooms) If you didn't grow up in Deloitte culture (vs. being transferred in) it's hard to break through Really pompous junior people - always felt like it was a contest to prove how smart one is... at taking notes. Experienced hires are not fully utilized for their craft, nor taught management consulting from the onset - kind of left to 'figure it out' and flounder While the entrepreneurial spirit is 'encouraged', the hierarchy kills any opportunity for growth or risk... by the time you're 'ready' in their eyes, you're ready to go. Younger co-workers - if you're an experienced hire, coming in as a junior practitioner, it may be hard to keep up. Stuck-up/entitled culture

    Pros

Well-run corporation, focused on investing in their talent. Most people I've met are bright and talented. You can usually find moral/career support when things get rough, esp. with other peers.

    Cons

Like any big corporation, you have to be somewhat willing to drink the Kool-Aid, but it's not so bad if you take it with a grain of salt. As a junior practitioner, your first couple of projects might be drudge work. Lots of PowerPoint slides. Also, the whole compensation thing is a little wonky. Clearly it is necessary to broadcasts one's achievements and get management to notice your work. There's always competition to volunteer for everything and look more proactive than the person next to you.

    Advice to Management

I've been totally turned off by some individuals in management who clearly only had business pursuits in mind and what you could do for them.

    Pros

Decent bennifts in line with a large company, you can do anything if you know who to talk too.

    Cons

Large layers on management, hard to move up unless you know the right people.

    Advice to Management

Bonus structure needs improvement, salary isn't in line with skill requests.

    Pros

Loved the company's culture Interesting work Opportunities for growth and taking on additional responsibilities I had a great manager that really mentored me and pushed me to succeed.

    Cons

definitely some longer hours and lots of company travel. If you are young and single and like to travel, you would like working for this company

    Advice to Management

I honestly think very highly of the upper management of this company. I admire their leadership style and think they set the standard for the industry.

    Pros

--The people I work with are amazing. Smart, motivated, and willing to work together. --Opportunities grow on trees. Want training? Here you go! Want to lead an effort? Have at it! --Senior leadership is generally pretty approachable.

    Cons

--If you're on the "PPD Track," you are required to put in hours outside your project work on "firm activities." It can feel like a lot, and it can feel like a distraction from client work at times. --Bait and switch--they give you tons of vacation time, but you can't use it without hurting your utilization. Utilization is high. It works out to about two weeks vacation, plus holidays, if you're capped at 40 hours per week (most Federal projects are)

    Advice to Management

Let's get real about how much you can expect of people before they decide their lives are worth more. There's a lot of turnover because people get burnt out. Instead of cycling people through, why not pull back a smidge and see if you can get some of those folks to stick around? Most people treat this as a training ground for something else they want to do--suck out all the marrow and then walk away. Wouldn't it be better to realize the investments you put into people. All that training, walking right out your doors--it's a shame.

    Pros

The salary is great and you get discounts on things like movie tickets. You can also get everything paid for when you travel with the company.

    Cons

You're sold a dream that you can choose the type of work you're interested in and move on when you'd like another experience...it's not that easy and it's much more political than that.

    Advice to Management

Work on developing middle management much more. PPDs may be great but if it doesn't trickle down, the junior level employees will easily be unhappy with their management
