    Pros

Benefits, Light on Bureaucracy, flat/matrix organization, progressive approach to consulting.

    Cons

High pressure to support client and contribute significantly to proposals. Internal expectations constantly infringe on nights and weekends.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Need to build dedicated proposal teams to release pressure from team.

    Pros

You will be on-boarded and have lots of information thrown at you.
It is a very structured environment that will reward you in theory if you work very hard.
There is a lot of networking opportunities and sense of community

    Cons

Feedback can be hit or miss.
You can work excessive hours and not be compensated for them.
very little small margin of error
Expectations are not always communicated well

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take time to get to know who you are hiring and how to make employees feel less alienated

    Pros

Great place to meet high caliber professionals and learn a great deal - but only for the motivated individual. Nothing is handed to you so be prepared to create opportunities, align yourself with the people who will be 'in the room' during your evaluation, and go above and beyond to get noticed. Otherwise it's not for you.

    Cons

Too much reliance on networking to staff people on projects - a bit hap hazard/ad-hoc approach to staffing once you are hired.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recently on-boarded individuals should be given some say on what project sectors or industries they are staffed on.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Training (especially Deloitte University), employees have good backgrounds and are typically smart/work hard, Traveling is the best!

    Cons

Management does not listen to employees, PTO is "given" to employees but no one is actually able to use it because it will affect your utilization, the Federal Arm of Deloitte needs a lot more work to be up to par with the Commercial Practice. Additionally, if you join the company with experience (and sometimes already a graduate degree in hand), you will not be compensated for all of that - Deloitte wants to mold you in their own way. That's why it is best to join as a new hire, right out of school!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to all employees! They are the ones who make the company.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Deloitte offers a number of benefits. In addition to an above board starting salary, Deloitte caters to an aggressive and outgoing professional. Along with a strong compensation and benefits package, Deloitte offers a number of continued education programs and provides its employee's with a healthy amount of extracurricular activities to build your own professional brand. Lot's of free professional perks, outings, and get togethers.

    Cons

It's a big company, so you have to make a name for yourself. Office culture can be a little stubborn at time, but with a little socializing and networking you make your own career.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Company needs to better its work-life fit model and not penalize employees who have earned PTO from taking it. Utilization is important, but it should not factor in holiday time or earned PTO.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The best most talented people I have ever been privileged to work with. It really is astounding. Keeps you on your toes, constantly learning and improving your own skills. Great support systems for women going into management with WIN. Fantastic training programs, online, at office locations and at Deloitte University.

    Cons

Be prepared to bounce around a lot. From Healthcare to Housing, Military to Corporate. Sounds fun but it becomes a real drag after a couple of years. You never really have a job at Deloitte you are always lining up your next engagement and updating your resume

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seems to be well managed structure, very fast paced and good corporate values. I have no complaints.

I worked at Deloitte full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Extremely talented and passionate practitioners, every resource at your disposal, broad opportunities to do whatever you want and make your experience what you want.
Great training and personal growth opportunities available, high level clients that are decision makers.

    Cons

Work life balance is a myth (however that's probably true for most companies like this).
Advancing to manager level and beyond to PPD level is extremely competitive. This isn't necessarily a con. However if you want to do your job and go home this isn't the place for you. Kiss your nights and a good part of your weekends good-bye if you want to succeed at these higher levels.
