    Pros

    Cons

Work life balance sucks, very demanding, requires alot of extra time to stay on top of things

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Work life fit must be addressed to mitigate high turnover rate/burn out

I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Amazingly smart and talented people; wealth of resources to grow your consulting skills and knowledge base; lots of coaching and mentoring if you have an engaged counselor/mentor

    Cons

Work/Life balance is a joke; firm activity expectations are difficult to fit in with client work; some project managers are still stuck in the "butt in seats" mentality and don't allow or encourage working off site.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be realistic about work life balance. While you say it's important, it's difficult to manage both client and firm initiatives effectively AND have a life outside of the company.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Good health and vacation benefits
    Good office culture

    Cons

    Poor work-life balance
No office supplies at client locations i.e. water/snacks/coffee/stationary etc.
Parking issues/out of the pocket costs at the Deloitte offices

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management need to put employees first when negotiating contracts
Match employees skills with right projects to increase their job satisfaction.
Get rid of talent management if employees must find their own work as there is no need for talent management

I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You gain experience quickly and have great opportunities after you leave.

    Cons

Hours are pretty terrible and most people used to getting straight A's and being considered top of your class will still be rated average.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more on employee retention and quality of life.

I worked at Deloitte full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Can't find much pros as the company culture is heavily changing to a particular south Asian country. It is a bizarre environment under the direction of current chief.

    Cons

Long term degradation of an American enterprise. It is sad that you can circumvent hiring practices to favor one particular country and dilute branding.

I would not want to be a part of this culture anymore. Ask the co levels and you will find out that they view Deloitte heading into the same direction as Accenture, IBM!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove and centralize hiring within proper geography or insert critical reviews to question talent search, on boarding and retention.

I worked at Deloitte full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Salaries are good. Benefits are decent. Flexible working hours.

    Cons

Unless you are part of the Partner/Principal ladder, they tolerate you at best. You are held to standards that are not written on paper, but held against you nonetheless. Bad habit of hiring leadership from without instead of cultivating talent from within. Are moving to increased "hoteling" experience to increase "teamwork". Don't know about you, but it is not productive to have to find a new desk everyday; to work in an open area with all sorts of distractions and interruptions. Really just a "justification" for cheaper office space.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be inclusive of support services and let them do the job their career field demands. Recognize their contributions. You make mistakes as often as anyone else in your business (yes, we see it and we hear it).

I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    - Salary
    - Stability
    - Structure
    - Benefits

I've worked in Deloitte's Federal AERS practice for five years and met some great Partner's.

    Cons

    - Boring work
    - Politics. Those who suck up will move up
    - Long-term engagement

Although I've met great parnters, I've worked with terrible managers. As a CPA, my direct manager was a government major and I didn't learn anything from them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide more recognition to staff level practitioners, make them feel like you can build a career at Deloitte. the expectation for many staff members is that you stay at Deloitte for 2-5 years and then you leave. You'd save alot of money if you invest in your people in the long term.

I have been working at Deloitte full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great experiences, lots of training in soft skills, work with very smart, motivated professionals who are constantly trying to make themselves better. People very much care about their jobs and performing well, both for their client and themselves.

Deloitte also cares a lot about their people and if you are passionate about something, they will allow you to do it.

    Cons

Competitive teams. Sometimes more about who you know than anything else.
