Pros
Very sophisticated system, good to work here for a green hand.
Cons
Too conservative, the progress compare to competitor is too slow.
Advice to Senior Management
Manage the different departments to work together, not every department hold their own not willing to take responsibility.
Pros
challenging work, good environment, good people
Cons
support off-sites requires after hour effort
Advice to Senior Management
Hire more engineers
Pros
Auto industry continues to be strong even in the weak economy now that all auto companies have gotten more efficient
Cons
Not much grow at Delphi because more investment over seas
Advice to Senior Management
Promote people who perform well rather than just by office politics
Pros
Good work-life balance-ideal for women
Good cab
Ideal for family people who dont have too much ambition in career growth/remuneration ;)
worst Canteen food (seen Cockroach some times)
Cons
Bureucratic top management
Very dumb middle mangement
Knowledge of the ground realities of Indian/Global IT job market are not known to the management
No transparent policy towards rewards/promotions
Technology is also outdated. No chance to work on latest trends in the IT industry
Advice to Senior Management
Please do some fair justice & no politics
Pros
1.Good work-life balance
2.OK Salary compared to its competitors Bosch, Conti. But its pathetic compared to other industries
3.Long tea-coffee breaks. No one opposes that :)
Cons
1. Inflated CTC. Very less in-hand
2. No domain knowledge building is possible. Bangalore is just a software center, with all manual
repititive, manual software work dumped from other locations.
3. Very poor career growth. There are 10 year experience guys still doing petty bug fixes.
4. Some managers deal in number of hours spent in office. Some are very particular about completion of 45 hours, regardless of the work completion
5. Too much mindless process oriented. Half the productive time goes in processes.
6. Inflexible working hours.
Advice to Senior Management
Please build capability and domain expertise and cease to be just a software center
Pros
- Operationally capable
- Results oriented
- Caring environment
- Capable co-workers
- Global footprint
Cons
- Cyclical industry (auto)
- Private ownership
- Not development oriented
- Sporadic internal communciation
Advice to Senior Management
With the worst behind, now time to invest more in the workforce (hiring, career development, recognition, etc.). Also, spend more time on communicating the vision & direction of company.
Pros
Good workenvironment
long tea breaks
no pressure
Cons
very bad senior management
Bad and young HRs who cant help out against these senoir managment
Lot of imbalance in salaries...You will stick to same salary where as new joiners cross you in no time
No onsites
Advice to Senior Management
Be transparent to employees
if you cross 50 please leave the company..
Pros
Good learning if you have time (which you will not have)
Cons
The team you join is very important. Few teams are notorious in Delphi for its horrible work culture and improper management. Senior management doesnt care about the employees as long as they are generating revenue from them. Tehy expect you to sit in ur place and work from morning till evening. My team especially loves to do micromanagement which is very irritating. They expect the status to be intimated every 2 hrs. They ask your work status when you go for a break.
All in all a very demotivating place to work for... :(
Writing this from my personal bad experience and my colleagues bad experience
Advice to Senior Management
DO not allow micromanagement. Respect employees and have a healthy work life balance.
Pros
Very technoolgical oriented with oppurtunities for advancement. A fast paced dynamic manufacturing platform steeped the desire for in continuous improvement.
Cons
Very difficult at times to make change in the workplace due to union politics. If you work there for a long time your expectations lowere with the environment.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to strive for change and make workplace rule changes manditory for the consideration of new work coming in to the site.
Pros
Interesting topics, good level of challenge in solving various auto-related problems
Cons
Finance heavily runs the company. As an engineer you may know the best solution to a problem but a financial employee will trump your professional opinion if need be. The morale of the engineers tends to be a little low, and many of them are older "squatters".
Advice to Senior Management
Better focus on teamwork, balance among different areas within the company
