    I worked at Delphi

    Pros

Great company with many senior level professionals that are willing to train young engineers. Hours are not so strict. Mostly relaxed environment. Productive office culture.

    Cons

Company protocol and online system and websites can get very bureaucratic, tedious, and time consuming. Long hours are many times needed and expected. Training is on-the-fly. Salaries and compensations are in general lower than most other engineering companies.

I worked at Delphi as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Most of the people are great. Projects are interesting and there is room to learn.

    Cons

There is little loyalty to their employees. The company has dead weight they are not dealing with and tend to move people around a lot which does not create an environment that is conducive to becoming excellent in your position. They also seem to be working with the old "boys club" mentality and still adhere to archaic ways of doing business. Who you know seems to matter more than what you know.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep a better eye on your good employees and treat them well so they stay happy. Be more diligent about the dead weight employees that are just going through the motions to keep a pay check. Most of the hard workers I know that are still there are unhappy!

I worked at Delphi as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly workplace and helpful in getting started. In addition, there is opportunity for moving up, as I saw a few shifts in management during my time with the company.

    Cons

Delphi has been on somewhat of a downward spiral in the Rochester area, and as such attitudes sometimes lean to the negative side, with poor future outlook for the branch.

    I worked at Delphi

    Pros

Competitive wages. Decent benefits. Interesting products

    Cons

Always the threat of being released. There is zero loyalty to the employees. High seniority employees lose their jobs and are replaced with new highers

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Show loyalty . Its not always about the bottom line

I have been working at Delphi

    Pros

The salary and benefits are good despite the economic issues.

    Cons

Does not promote from within company. Found opportunities posted on Glass door and not on internal posting site. Clearly interested in seeking younger employees for less money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be honest with employees and provide guarded information. Especially when things are published in other reputable newspapers.

    Pros

I really liked the engineering that they were doing on Fuel Cells and specifically my work at the site.
    Very helpful team.

    Cons

They didnt seem to put 100% into the work that they did at least 20% of the people seemed to be truely invested in the projects.

I worked at Delphi full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Okay pay, steady work, vacation pay, retirement savings plan

    Cons

No time for life or family. No sick days no breaks. No benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some employees chose to work hard. I think the hard working ones deserve breaks. The ones who are fat and lazy and claim they have worked there for so many years while other people are trying to keep the company in business, get rid of the bums. If Delphi press operators could make and earn rate to take a break , I bet you would get more parts. After so long of busting my chops and seeing who only cares about getting paid and their seniority, I could only take so much. And all the drama that comes with it is not worth the headache. Delphi needs to get rid of the seniority levels and treat everyone equal cause it has gotten to high seniority's fat heads they don't have to work. Employees there get mad if you make more parts than others cause then they have to work. I have dealt with employees being mad at me for blowing them out of the water and supervisors letting it all go. GET RID OF YOUR UNIONS.
