Current Employee – been working at Delphi full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Big company with opportunities, you can change position if you are capable and learn a lot.
Cons – Too big sometimes and processes changes slow...to much bureaucratic, stable but not too modern IT env.
Advice to Senior Management – Adapt quicker
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Delphi full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Technology, good place to learn and learn on the job. As this has been my only employer I have been satisfied. I have learned a lot and worked with very competent, skillful and disciplined engineers. This was a great place to learn the "art" of engineering. I have loved almost all of my experiences here.
Cons – Management tends to micro-manage a bit which is a bad thing when most of the employees each have 20+ years of experience. You must manage your career for yourself and not expect others to look out for you (that can be a pro or a con); mentoring programs have been non-existent for the last 10+ years.
Advice to Senior Management – Get rid of the escalation process and let employees be more pro-active. Focus on getting a good job and not on metrics.

Former Employee – worked at Delphi full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Processes put into place are effective and efficient.
Cons – Tight-knit group of former GM employees, very critical of others and unwelcoming to new/outside talent. "Heads will fly" management style creates an environment of information-withholding, and a fragile workforce.
Advice to Senior Management – Encourage a truth-be-told environment to build upon each others strengths, identifying areas of improvement via "lessons learned." Scare tactics are not a sign of good management - arise from the 1960's "iron fist" management style.

Former Employee – worked at Delphi full-time
Pros – Good and highly experienced engineers, good pay.
Cons – Power electronics projects are neat but need much better support from advanced engineering. Advanced engineering managers have no vision of what works and what doesn't and just act nice to keep their jobs. Production is always under pressure and the amount of work per engineer is unreasonable. Management recently laid off many engineers and Kokomo's workforce is shrinking but media is not talking about it! HR is not professional when dealing with employee issues.
Advice to Senior Management – Management up from the CEO down to group managers should be changed. This change should include advanced engineering and HR of power electronics. The company needs fresh vision to succeed, and more respect to employees who are always worried about losing their jobs.
The company has lots of potential but projects are always driven in the wrong direction.

Cons – unstable, laid off even once a quarter. The upper managers have no idea for the future of the company
Advice to Senior Management – Pay attention to the company and people, not the money into your pocket

Former Employee – worked at Delphi full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Delphi is fortunate to have a lot of talented, hard working engineers and other professionals. Throughout Delphi’s extended bankruptcy, most employees continued to work hard and stay focused with good teamwork.
Cons – Delphi uses strictly bottom line management. There appears to be no good vision for the company. Delphi lied to employees regarding pensions and health care. The standard contract with employees is now “day to day”.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep outsourcing your engineering and manufacturing and I think you will continue to struggle to maintain let alone grow market share. When you do things like have one of your vice presidents address an all employee meeting and state you will protect your employees’ pensions then dump the pension to the PBGC, you lose all credibility with your employees. The quality of your current employees is the only reason you are still in business at all. You need to work hard to regain their trust. It may be too late.
