I have been working at Delta Air Lines full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great salary, awesome travel benefits. I don't think any other airlines out gives there employees the perx and bonuses we can get

    Cons

Although the excecutive leader are good, sometimes direct management can be a hassle. Some departments work on the good olé boy system.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. I would not rather work for another airline. I look forward to making this a life long career.

I worked at Delta Air Lines as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome environment for social people, as well as those that want to blend into the background. Plenty of busy work to do.

    Cons

Very big ship and your input may not matter. The company didn't seem as interested in problem solving as much as throwing money at them. I believe there is a more political reason for this but who knows.

    Advice to Management

Really listen to the people doing work.

I worked at Delta Air Lines full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits and working conditions. Coworkers were more like family and received adequate support from the management team. Would recommend this company.

    Cons

Not many cons as better shifts come as you build seniority, also that helps to protect you in the downsizing as affects this industry from time to time.

    Advice to Management

Offer more options during downsizing events and keep up the benefits, this helps to retain productive employees during all times, good and bad.

I have been working at Delta Air Lines full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You travel to some of the most amazing places in the world. You meet people of different cultures and are exposed to things culturally. You get paid while doing all of the above!

    Cons

The In-Flight group is not unioned. Therefore, you are bounded to the work rules that are set by the company which is typically not in favor of the flight attendant. You work very long days most times and very short nights. The pay in not an industry standard but the company will try to create an illusion that it is. You are also away from your family and friends which can make the job very lonely.

    Advice to Management

Management should be more supportive of the in-flight crews. We are the only airline in-flight crew that is not unioned. The company should reconsider this decision in order to preserve the loyalty of their employees.

I have been working at Delta Air Lines full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

In the past 4 years they have given raises every year to match industry pay. They have a very nice profit sharing plan, probably the best in the industry percentage wise.

    Cons

They say to treat customer well, but they do not allow enough time to do so. They micromanage airport employees too much with metrics. They expect a plane to be turned in unrealistic times.

    Advice to Management

Please tell the two people 1) who gave us the unrealistic metrics and 2) the person encouraging us to go above and beyond for our customers, to please communicate with each other, because going above and beyond takes time which we do not have. It is obvious the two have never met or discussed how unrealistic these goals are implementing them together.
