Pros
Free domestic flights
Cheap International flights
Ability to fly first class, when open, for free on Domestic flights
Ability to fly first class, when open, for cheap on International flights
Cons
Having ideas will put a target on you
Any talk about a Union will get you fired
Northwest vs Delta fighting within the Company
Your life is worthless, the company only cares about its Aircraft's
Moral and Ethical practices might be put to test during job
Advice to Senior Management
Consider that many of the older more experienced employees that are Pro-Union are your biggest assets, you are pushing them out the door without realizing that hiring new younger staff is only hurting you. Open the door for Union and watch how well business does.
Pros
-Best benefit package of any other airline- great non-rev privilages.
-Responsive management and NO UNION needed for necessary changes
-Congenial labor/management relations
-Very understanding of family emergencies
-Profit Sharing!
Cons
-working at Christmas
-pressure to turn a plane around in 40 minutes
-the occasional trashy customer......
Advice to Senior Management
-Let employees make comments on Intranet stories
-Set up a way for flight attendants to send in ideas to improve service flow that cost NO money. We have lots of ideas but aren't sure who to sent them on to.
Pros
You get to travel like it's noone else's business!!! :) With this being such a large company it is hard to find people that make it complicated to work with. The people really make this place.
Cons
Not a lot of direction regarding advancement.
Pros
travel perks were great..I loved that
Cons
salary cuts, benefit cuts, easy to stagnate within the company
Pros
The main reason is the free flights for you and your family. The ability to go anywhere in the US for free is a major bonus.
Cons
Supervisors expected the employees to carry duties of highly paid hourly positions without proper compensation. Trained new employees with being considered for the position of a Trainer, which paid a lot more hourly.
Advice to Senior Management
Train supervisors on company policies thoroughly and make sure they are trained to have knowledge of each hourly position in their station.
Pros
Travel Benefits, Employee Recognition Programs, Information provided to Management is relevant and keeps people engaged in the future of Delta.
Cons
Delta Tech Ops is currently lacking and loosing credibility, the merge of Delta Air Lines with Northwest has not turned out to be a merge to make a greater company, but one in which Delta management has elected to throw out key people and core business functionality that Northwest used to survive difficult times.
Advice to Senior Management
Realize that Delta Air Lines is growing larger than Atlanta. People from around the country and the world run and contribute to the success of large companies - not just gate agents, flight attendants, and pilots, but the people behind the scenes like accountants and engineers.
Some of these people can do their job from anywhere (in the world) and should to provide diversity and fresh perspectives to keep the company nourished.
Pros
I get Two weeks vacation in one year.
Cons
The customers are rude on occasion
Pros
free flights anywhere in the world on Delta (first class if available), only pay country tax, for you and spouse and parents and children. Travel and see as many places as you wish.
Cons
corporate feel, limited opportunities, not as fun of environment
Advice to Senior Management
be uptight about the things that the airlines need to keep in order, but relax on the things that don't need to be, a guys coming to work with a day's worth of facial hair should not be reprimanded.
Pros
Immediate supervisors and co-workers still carry on the "Delta Family" atmosphere. Competitive pay and benefits.
Cons
glassdoor Community Guidelines state to "Tell like it is...for real". Here it is: Senior Management and the Board of Directors drove the last nail through the heart of the Delta culture when they did 2 things: 1) Offered benefits to "domestic partners" (it riled up the employees so bad the email system had to be shut down to regain order), and 2) Announced the employees were proud to support the LGBT community and their events in order capture their business, when, in fact, many of us were actually embarrassed, and they were flying with us anyway. Obviously it was more important to chase the dollars than to respect the company culture and its history of providing great customer service regardless of what the customers did at home.
Advice to Senior Management
Study what made Delta so successful under the leadership of C.E Woolman, W. T. Beebe, and David Garrett and return to it. Focus on delivering great service at a competitive price. You told us the top reasons for choosing an airline were price, schedules, routes, and quality of service. Stop chasing the fluff and concentrate on these.
Pros
good benefits, good advancement, just don't expect that somebody will promote you. You will have to take the initiative to apply for jobs.
Cons
Frontline work hard with dissatisfied passengers and delays.
Advice to Senior Management
ok
