I worked at Delta Career Education Corporation full-time (More than a year)
The pay is decent. Most of the employees truly care about the students.
Management is undereducated and overpaid, but they treat non-management like idiots. They will reluctantly acknowledge you when you make them money, but that will fade by the next day. They will enroll anyone with a pulse; pregnant students about to give birth the week of the start, students that took the Wonderlic (entrance test) 15 times to pass and are clearly not capable of keeping up in class. Plan to work on holiday weekends, like Easter, but don't plan on getting notice until the day before. If you want a day off, you will need to request it months in advance and have a good explanation as to why. Oh and make sure your requested day isn't during one of their "blackout" periods.
Advice to Management
Listen to your subordinates. Nobody expects you to know everything, that's why we work as a team. Don't think you have all the answers. Listen to the people on the ground floor who communicate with students and know what's really going on. Stop socializing and start working. Get out in the community and make a difference if you care about changing futures and lives. Lead by example! Do not demand respect; earn it. Stop the gossip, don't start it.
