I have been working at Delta Career Education Corporation full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

New Management moving the company in right direction, lots of growth potential which also means great potential to help more people change the future and train them for a real career.

    Cons

The commute in Alexandria, VA (Washington DC Metro Area) can be brutal at times, but company is understanding and I have grown accustomed to the drive

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep moving in the right direction, we are making so many improvements which are very exciting and will ultimately benefit all of students for the rest of their lives.

    Pros

Zero Pros. They got rid of the great employees and kept the ones that sit on Facebook all day and lie to students.

    Cons

Salary. Upper Management is clueless. Oh and don't get pregnant as they will lay you off for no longer working the horrible schedule.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Nothing will help this place.

I have been working at Delta Career Education Corporation full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There is no pros. They lie during interview and make promises that they cannot commit to.

    Cons

There is no work-life balance, no room for growth, or raises. The hours are horrendous. If you miss a day you have to have documentation. 4 years without a raise while the upper management gets yearly bonuses for enrollments and retention. The company does not value its employees and treats them like peons. Depending on what campus you are at the manager may see it below them to give you any training. Yearly the fire people if bulks so never think that your job is safe.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If you want to retain not just your students but your employees also you should treat them like actual human beings. The CEO either has no clue as to what is going at the campuses or he just does not care.

    Pros

No micro-managing, very understanding when asking for time off, great co-workers, nice location

    Cons

No raise in over three years, not even a cost of living raise. We are constantly told that there is no money for raises, but the company is constantly hiring new employees, or creating high salary positions. Very little praise when it comes to doing a good job. Upper management doesn't care about the employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give raises to those who deserve it! Stop creating useless positions where people seem to come in, rake in bonuses and leave in less than six months.

Work with good colleagues for the most part

    Cons

Work you as much as they can for little reward in pay or recognition
    Poor upper level management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put student experience above the almight dollar

    Pros

Met some great people there who really want to succeed despite the companies best efforts to keep them down. The finance department is solid but unfortunately run by the admissions department. Huge conflict of interest. At least i got regular hours.

    Cons

Most if not all admissions responsibilities are pushed on finance. Despite compliance regulations. Getting on the bad side of a Admissions Manager can lead to written warnings and terminations. Poor leadership skills shown from the top down. Finance constantly working re-actively and is punished if the idea of working pro-actively is brought up. Place is on the bullet train to being closed down like Everest.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let Finance do its thing. Stop making EVERYTHING their responsibility so the ARs can spend a few more precious moments on the phone. Just sit back and look what is happening. Keep in mind, after a certain amount of time, FA can be requested.

I have been working at Delta Career Education Corporation full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Working with students and watching them maximize their potential is very rewarding. Most of the instructors are great to work with. Other co-workers can be very helpful as well.

    Cons

People who are friends with management are not held to any work standard. They can stand outside all day smoking, leave early and pawn their work off on someone else. Some employees socialize with management and others are not invited. If you do a good job you can expect to be handed someone else's work to do as well. If you are not socializing with administration do not expect to succeed in this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hold your friends to the same work requirement as others at their level. If someone is not doing their job then replace them - rather than to re-assign the work to the departments that are already working hard to do their own job. Leaders should lead by example rather than leave early every day.

    Pros

Learn a great deal of stuff about everything educated with a very smart group of people. They are not afraid to make changes quickly. Pay when starting is nice.

    Cons

No raises ever. Not enough leave when first starting for higher level employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Need to give raises.

    Pros

They do deliver their paychecks on time but they're quickly going the way of Corinthian so who knows how long this will last.

    Cons

This is a terrible school that is rapidly loosing students and not adding new ones. The classrooms are outdated and we can't compete with other institutions. Students stare at the clocks because the classes are boring and staff just rushes them through to get the next round of financial aide.
