Pros
not many now that they are closing greensburg plant, although they have helped me buy two houses and sent a daughter through college
Cons
no job security, not rewarded well for time spent there, i know Greensburg is what made delta and now it seems they want to give nothing in return
Advice to Senior Management
treat your people with some respect when closing the plant alot of them have given everything to delta, make it shown that you appreciate the people that have stayed with you
Pros
Decent pay. Insurance reasonable. A great made in the USA company until they started using parts from China.
Cons
Dangerous chemicals. Hot environment. The old management was great the new management not so great
Advice to Senior Management
Treat the employees better.
Pros
Good competitive pay and benefits.
Cons
Terrible culture. Lots of backstabbing even in upper levels of management in addition to long (unofficial) mandatory hours.
Advice to Senior Management
Reinvent culture to allow for free thought and improve employee satisfaction.
Pros
Good product, salaries are good and benefits are very good.
Cons
Really a man's world, recent layoffs hit all women in supervisory and managerial positions-leaving many mediocre performing males in their positions. It is clearly not a good place for females if they plan to move higher than a secretary. After the fact, they became nervous and began hiring a few women, one minority to try and clean up their act.
Advice to Senior Management
Learn to be fair to all, not just those that can discuss last night's game.
Pros
you can work in a friendly environment, learning about the processes of your area and how to do a better job. The people I work with are good. Most areas are working safely with leaders who care about your life outside the plant and show it with the willingness to work with you on your hours.
Cons
We see a lot of favoritism and this make for poor attitudes among those who are not priviledged to be on the favored list. The plant has been through a lot and I feel who do the best we can to keep up with the other plants and be a necessary part of our company.
Advice to Senior Management
Please keep all informed of what will be happening to them in their area. Let's respect all the people, not just a select few. Others might walk in your area and not agree with the managment's opinions there. Respect us all as equals and treat us as such.
Pros
Pay rate, friendliness ,and clean .
Cons
It's hard work but very satisfying.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the good work!
Pros
Great people, great company. Delta nurtures there employees and it's clear that your growth is their priority. I was never thrown out on my own without someone there to help when I needed
Cons
The only con to Delta Faucet is the building that they are residing in. An expansion or newer building is definitely in order to comfortably fit their staff.
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to do what you've been doing. You have a strong company that is only getting stronger because of the strong staff that you've brought on.
Pros
It's a job and the insurance is pretty good. We are rewarded for perfect attendance which is good since there are no excuses allowed for not working.
Cons
Hourly people aren't allowed to miss for sickness; doctor statements are useless! We are expected to be at work even with flu!
Salary get tons of paid sick leave while hourly get written up if sick or in hospital.
Advice to Senior Management
Give hourly employees (your backbone) the exact sick-leave policy that salary get.
Accept doctor statements and don't count proven illness against perfect attendance.
Pros
Good pay and benifits. Management doesn't care what you do as long as they get a check.
Cons
Shipping everything to China. Seniority rules no matter how good you are.
Advice to Senior Management
Get out, you couldn't manage a boy scout troop. This is why the company has gone to he##
Pros
Good quality of people - personally and professionally - at the mid and lower management levels. Many employees get to know each other on a personal level and genuinely care and respect each other. This allows for good idea sharing and support amongst various groups. Delta is very good about caring for their employees. Generally a friendly environment, maybe too much so in some cases. Morale is not good. It is difficult to get fired. The headquarter location is good - Carmel, IN. When downsizing has occurred, severance packages seemed fair, although selection not as fair. Well known brands - Delta, Peerless (low end), Brizo (high end).
Cons
There has been a lot of recent change in upper management and related re-organization and employee turnover. Many individuals and groups are trying to figure out what they should be doing and learning how to do it. Not enough accountability amongst the various groups which leads to gaps in activities and finger pointing. Company is struggling in the down housing market and economy. Product/technology changes may not be well received in the market creating future further declines - risk. Customer pressures to reduce price and increasing product costs impacting financials. Need better metrics in place. Goals that are set are not necessarily adhered to.
Advice to Senior Management
Review leadership of the various areas to make sure the right person is in place to motivate and drive improvement/growth. Clearly define responsibilitites within each functional area and hold them accountable with regular reviews. Assure responsibilities and accountabilities of cross functional strategies are in alignment amongst various groups. Look for early indicators of progress or issues with new initiatives. Make sure we are objectively listening to feedback from customers, consumers, reps, employees, and not just hearing what we want to hear.
