    Not enough work force!

I worked at Deltek full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Good benefits (good salary package and overall benefits!)
Flexible schedule (work from homes are allowed and not strict on schedule)
    Nice people.

    Cons

Overtime is common because of the ridiculous time frame the management has set.
Processes are not organized! No one follows the protocols.
Managers does not listen to employees!
No one cares for the quality of the products as long as they are put out on time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure the time frame for all the releases are enough so as not to sacrifice quality of the products!

    Pros

Deltek allows a lot of flexibility with its remote employees which is really nice. They expect you to get your job done and as long as that happens, they stay off your back.

    Cons

Unless you work in the Herndon or Cambridge office, growth with the company is not going to happen.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Promote from within and trust in your remote employees to take on bigger roles.

I have been working at Deltek full-time

    Pros

Management has improved in many departments, though there is still work to be done with how employees are treated). Teleworking is great, however in many departments there are metrics that you need to meet in order to be 'rewarded' with work-from-home days. Employees should be allowed to work from home most days as opposed to 2-3 to remain competitive.

    Cons

Not enough opportunity to move up in the company or professional development opportunities. Some of the benefits are lacking (very small reimbursement for education, no sick days, quarterly bonuses are small in comparison to similar companies, 401k is ok not great though).

I have been working at Deltek full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Was recently asked to leave the company after several years. Was given a very fair package which included $$, placement service, etc. Difficult to leave but treated with respect.

    Cons

Too many jobs going off shore!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't send too much offshore... eventually jobs will come back

I worked at Deltek full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

    - Good fall guy salary.
    - Great at outsourcing.

    Cons

    - Best in marketing and hiring coz people are being let-go or your job is being outsourced.
    - Scripted annual evaluations, extreme kiss ass system
    - Few or no external audit since 1980.
    - Magic abounds.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A 2+ rating here yet a great company to work with? Yeah right.
    All marketing.

I have been working at Deltek full-time

    Pros

Very flexible work arrangements. Ability to take on and participate in new projects outside of your standard work load mostly at your discretion. You have the ability to dictate your professional growth.

    Cons

Profits dictate job stability. Poorly chose to outsource client-facing roles, thus tarnishing customer service & company image. Too many managers & "decision-makers" trying to stir one pot.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep client-facing positions on-shore. Streamline management and provide more opportunity for individual contributors to move up in their roles.

    I worked at Deltek full-time

    Pros

None. I can't think of any. I met the worst VP there, who has no professional skills and treated people really bad.

    Cons

Don't go there. One the worst place I have worked for. The manager was very confusing and never dared to fight for your right. A small company with a bunch of incompetent people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat people better.
