I have been working at Deltek full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Was recently asked to leave the company after several years. Was given a very fair package which included $$, placement service, etc. Difficult to leave but treated with respect.

    Cons

Too many jobs going off shore!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't send too much offshore... eventually jobs will come back

I worked at Deltek full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    - Good fall guy salary.
    - Great at outsourcing.

    Cons

    - Best in marketing and hiring coz people are being let-go or your job is being outsourced.
    - Scripted annual evaluations, extreme kiss ass system
    - Few or no external audit since 1980.
    - Magic abounds.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A 2+ rating here yet a great company to work with? Yeah right.
    All marketing.
Former AOL quality head still sucks in this new company.

Flexibility abounds, but your job is at the helm of their profit margin and could be outsourced tomorrow.

I have been working at Deltek full-time

    Pros

Very flexible work arrangements. Ability to take on and participate in new projects outside of your standard work load mostly at your discretion. You have the ability to dictate your professional growth.

    Cons

Profits dictate job stability. Poorly chose to outsource client-facing roles, thus tarnishing customer service & company image. Too many managers & "decision-makers" trying to stir one pot.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep client-facing positions on-shore. Streamline management and provide more opportunity for individual contributors to move up in their roles.

    I worked at Deltek full-time

    Pros

None. I can't think of any. I met the worst VP there, who has no professional skills and treated people really bad.

    Cons

Don't go there. One the worst place I have worked for. The manager was very confusing and never dared to fight for your right. A small company with a bunch of incompetent people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat people better.

I worked at Deltek full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pretty good money and benefits and remote employee policy.

    Cons

Poor mid management who were just looking to cover there own rears. Not surprising since upper management was in a constant state of flux.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clear out the deadwood in middle management who are only there because they suck up to sr. management. You have or had good employees on the street who are frustrated by your lack of ability to truly see where the problems are.

I worked at Deltek full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I had the autonomy to set my own hours to get the job done for the client. I got to travel around the country, work with people in different industries, establish and maintain professional relationships and make new friends.

    Cons

I realized that at the end of every quarter, based on your required utilization, you never knew if you would be employed for the next quarter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some of the pressure off in regard to utilization requirements.
