    Still makes revenue in the declining check industry

    Upper management makes all decisions which are short term focused and doesn't empower employees who have to sell terrible products. Horrible work culture.

    I would not reccomend any of the people I know to try to get a job here.Not worth your effort.

    Cons

    People with extensive knowledge never get paid what they are worth. Never any chance to cross train or get promoted.

    Pay people what they are worth. If you dont do this the employees will move on.

    Pros

    Free parking good location free checks PTO plan nice typical 401k match benefits are pretty good flexibility when needed. On site cafeteria

    Cons

    Dysfunctional senior leaders, terrible IT, layoffs every single Fall...EVERY single Fall...can't cut your way to growth. They have no clue how to integrate acquisitions..every single one has failed. Do not invest in what is needed. Hot headed CEO who has no clue how to inspire people. His EQ is very low and self awareness is non-existent.

    Won't listen anyways but stop the layoffs, stop allowing senior leaders to be unethical. Acquire a genuine care for people. Sell your stock cuz it is going nowhere but down. The shifting if numbers to make you look better than what you are will catch up to you.

    Pros

    They are taking the correct strategy by switching to a technology company, but sabotage it by letting incompetent I.T. and non-I.T. people rule.

    Cons

    No one is accountable. Doing the simplest thing requires hours of meetings and politics. VERY hierarchical. If you are below someone they will exert their influence. The illusion of performance is more important than performance, so if you are an expert in I.T. making great progress you will be shot down and micro-managed (since usually short-term sacrifices are required for mid to long-term gains).

    You have NO CLUE about technology. Fire incompetents and political saboteurs, hire competent IT people, then get the F out of the way and let them do their job. Ensure no one who isn't born and bred into successful technology has a position of power over those who do.

    Pros

    Good at recruiting and presenting the company as a resurgent organization. They fooled me.

    Cons

    Check printing still brings in a lion share of revenue despite what company has the street believing. We all know how printers are doing today. Deluxe uses the surplus model for hiring. Lateral transfers and weeding out the weak. A process for which the "best" never apply.

    Make a BIG acquisition, that is the only way I see this organization staying relevant.

    Pros

    None - run away as fast as you can! Deluxe will hire you on a whim that one of their next great products will take off. When it does not because of poor execution you will be out the door.

    Cons

    Continue to churn head count. Recently terminated most every Senior Manager. Many long - term employees have been methodically reduced in head cut. Many of these people were with the company for 10 - 20 years. Few are left.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Advice to Board: Remove Lee Schram. He is not an effective leader for the long term and certainly not a good citizen.

    Pros

    There are no positives about working at Deluxe. You are treated like less than human. It is not a good work environment.

    Cons

    The policies at Deluxe are very backwards. When you work there your entire life is at their mercy; you are not a person, you are a robot.

    You can work from home if your job allows.

    Cons

    Their CEO is a hot headed old-school thinker who is oblivious to anything but the stock price and earning forecast. Senior management places their stock price before all. They lack good product mixes or well thought out business systems and value propositions. Annual layoffs come like clock work. Though they have a good policy in place for performance management their managers are always itching for ways to just fire whoever they can blame to meet their quarterly earnings goals instead of correcting issues. Most positions pay below market value. Their products are irrelevant to each other though they like to believe having a wide offering of products is somehow a value proposition.

    Pros

    Nice customers make the day go by very quickly. This is what made the job good and happy for the employees during my employment there.

    Cons

    Poor management to deal with on a regular basis. They love to micro-manage and I believe a lot of it is because they will eventually soon be going out of business.

    The building is nice, has a pond.

    Compensation is below average, not much opportunities. Too much Nepotism!

    Establish guidelines for Nepotism, must not work under the same management structure! Certainly not in the same team!
