    God tips,great customers and great food.very affordable.great management.good teamwork.always new food items.great value 2468 menu.kids eat free after 4 oclock.after 4 we had 20% Aarp discount.My GM and night manager showed up everyday.they were very dedicated and loyal to our company.had the best line cooks in the business!!Dining room was always clean.

    Cons

    Working on holidays is a must.at times had to work long hours.very fast paced.they closed the greatest diner in Temple Texasdue to I35 construction.they broke up the best established team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Bring in a new Dennys in Temple Texas!

    I have been working at Denny's

    Pros

    I was trained by corporate when the place first opened, because it's open 24/7 there are many shifts available, opportunity to make decent money, staff is friendly and easy to work with, easy way to get working experience

    Cons

    because I work at a newly opened Denny's, the place is busy for the most part, it can be very stressful at times & you have to be very diligent about managing your time and tables; loaded up with sidework to the point where I didn't leave work until 2 hours after my shift was over; because the prices are so low, many times the tips are too; cooks are inexperienced and mess up frequently and make you run half the order to the table because only half is ready; hostesses often triple seat servers when we are busy and have no order when seating customers; district manager is high strung and has fired multiple people on the spot

    You get to bring home money on a daily basis, you get to work with wonderful people and get to be around wonderful customers

    Cons

    You have to stand on your feet all day and have to be able to carry heavy trays of food and remember your customers to ensure their happiness

    The food was ok, get a 50% discount when working and I think it was 25% when off the clock. Fast paced environment, constantly meeting new people.

    Cons

    Being promised a promotion but then being put on the back burner. Having hours that are different from what I was told when I was hired.

    Pros

    As a server it is quick and fast money, as a manager the job is never-ending. There is never a thank you, there are times where you are in the kitchen cooking, a customer needs to talk to you so you have to leave in the midst of many checks. They run such low labor lines the only way to successfully hit budget is for you to do all the work yourself

    Cons

    Decent pay, quick money, easy to move up because many people quit after they see the work involved.

    Great coworkers, flexibility, great training, good management, good product, great on the job training, always busy in the mornings, help always received when asked for, good incentives

    Poor compensation, poor clientele, no room for growth or promotion, not allowed good schedules and good sections for tables; high volume of turnover

    Pros

    The GM is great and so is the assistant manager, they will help you and give you the hours you need, of course if you deserve them. Some co-workers , including myself, are extremely helpful when the going gets rough. Some of the customers have been going there for years, so it's a very friendly environment. Some people leave great tips.Great place to start off your experience as a server/host.

    Cons

    Sometimes understaffed, very rude customers once in a while, sometimes the guests don't leave alot of tip but of course that's based on the service and because the menu is not too expensive, people come with not that much money and don't really know how to tip anyways. Some employees are very selfish and not helpful at all, only thinking about themselves.
