    Pros

Very easy to work for and not a lot of added stress. The restaurant has a lot of interesting people come in especially after a concert.

    Cons

Franchisee is small and opportunities for growth are not exceptional.

    Pros

Friendly guests, easy to learn, free food or half priced,as long as you know your specs store practically ran itself.

    Cons

Long hours, no benefits that were affordable or worth anything, owner was unprofessional and had favoritism towards the female employees, poor repairs and maintenance of issues that directly impacted guests-clogged drains in foh, really stained and moldy wet carpet. Employees that never got any discipline or back up from bosses regarding employees follow up.

    Advice to Management

Stay away from these types of businesses, they will take you in and use you up and if you want quality of life, forget it.

    Pros

i worked with Denny's for a long time. started as a dishwasher and became a training general manager. I liked working for both corporate and franchise but lost a lot of the perks that corporate gave us. do get a 3% raise each year.

    Cons

We had no bonus program, no 401K, everyone gets same raise no matter their if their performance was good or bad. No incentives for being a successful trainer.

    Advice to Management

put in better compensatoion package, get a 401K. Make you r superstars and leaders feel valued.

    Pros

Tips. Laid back and awesome people come in regularly

    Cons

A little less than half the people that come in will haggle you for a free meal and/or just flat out completely rude. The management and the whole company in its self is completely crooked and super shady. We would run out of IMPORTANT menu items everyday, like ketchup. How can you run a restaurant with no ketchup. Half the things on the menu are eaten with ketchup. MOST the employees aren't there to help you or be your friend.

    Advice to Management

    You all need new jobs

    Pros

I was lucky enough to work in a very busy denneys and also work exclusively in the morning shift(busiest time). With 5-6 table stations and people constantly walking in you have the potential to make a lot of money. You do work very hard here though between having to deal with call in orders that rarely tip, lines at the front to cash out and having to seat peor you really have to work for your money.

    Cons

just enough morning staff to juggle their off days during the week and forcing all of them to come in every single weekend. Extremely difficult to take holidays off(I left because I couldn't have thanks giving off even though I have a 2 months notice). And they are EXTREMELY sells orientated. They want you to sell sell sell desserts beverages and just try to get people to spend more money. People come to denneys for a cheap meal and are usually cheap people how are you going to force them to buy desserts in the morning. They show you your sells report everyday and get on your case over numbers. Your schedule and hours can depend on these numbers too.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on customer service then sells. Going up to 20 tables a day saying a rehearsed line to try to sell more makes you seem more like a robot and is time consuming when you have so many tables

    Pros

Dennys has a very flexible schedule. They are very well staffed so it is fairly easy to get the days on and off that you need.

    Cons

The starting pay is minium wage. Here in California that would be nine dollars an hour. Lots of work for that nine dollars.

    Advice to Management

Treat all employes with respect either if they are a server or dishwasher. Order the proper tools to get the job done right.

    Pros

24 hours is a definite pro (mostly). 3rd shift/overnight servers get 4.80 an hour due to lack of hostess and the weird hours. It's not a lot but it's definitely a nice little check, plus drunks and other people who work late are pretty sympathetic and tip better at night. The managers are less likely to be angry and be more patient and understanding at a place like Denny's.

    Cons

Some managers (usually third shift) don't tend to watch employees well, which is a good thing if you know how to do your job but if you work with people who don't do much cleaning or sidework, you have to do it or confront the person when the manager should be doing it. 24 hours could be a con, depends on your schedule and lifestyle.

    Advice to Management

If someone raises their voice to the point that customers look, they should be terminated or atleast sent home.
