An organization with too much churn.

    Computer Security (Current Employee)
    Washington, DC

ProsHuge budget, invests in employee training and certifications. Good place to work for project managers. Many different locations and types of work available.

ConsToo many contractors, not enough feds. Programs never given full opportunity to be completed as they are often changed or cancelled upon appointment of a new secretary.

Advice to Senior ManagementChange the ratio of federal employees to contractors. Allow projects to be implemented and completed before you pull the plug. implement strong central control over the laboratories.

Comfortable but with room to grow

    Program Analyst (Current Employee)
    Washington, DC

ProsIf you can get a ladder position it is a great starting job. If you are motivated and have a good boss there are plenty of great projects to pick up that are challenging.

ConsThings take forever to get done and you will deal with a very large number of incompetent people who lack any motivation.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork on better training new hires.
