Pros
Strong brand recognition with in the retail community. Location is pleaseant weather year round and close to Nashville. Pay was decent, but benfeit package need stregthening
Cons
Cross functional teams not process oriented. Employees not held accountable for their results. Lack of customer urgency around proejcts and programs.
Advice to Senior Management
Understand the retail business model. Read and follow the trend lines of the business. Flatten the bloated organization. It could be a great company.
Pros
Good working environment with fellow employees and direct bosses.
Cons
Upper management kept employees in the dark about major company decisions, such as filing for bankruptcy and not offering COBRA.
Advice to Senior Management
You should develop a better reputation to gain the trust of your current workforce and to attract potential employees. After I was hired and would tell people where I was employed they would say that they had heard it was a bad place to work. Also, Bowling Green, KY, the company's headquarters, is a very small city, so word travels fast.
Pros
Great people to work with that truly cared about the company and wanted to see it succeed.
Good balance of family and business hours.

Senior Management did not understand the retail business, the industry and trends.
Incompetent upper level management.
Lack of employee meetings.

Listen to middle management and customers.
Take time to truly understand the business and channels of distribution.
Attainable bonus programs.
Pros
Seem to care about their employ's more so then most. Also good place to advance your education within and outside the company.
Cons
Not sure of company priorities from week to week (they change often and don't seem to filter down too quickly)

Leadership needs to listen to the employees in the trenches more often. By the time they get a clue the environment has changed
