I have been working at Desjardins full-time

    Pros

Work-life balance, treatment of others (laid-back culture), benefits, opportunity to work on major initiatives if you get along with your manager and demonstrate your quality

    Cons

Very political environment, getting ahead is about who you know more than it is about results, on average staff is less competent than at competitors, culture can backfire as when times get tough many go into complain-mode instead of solution-mode

    Advice to Management

Keep cutting off the people who are just coasting, keep reinforcing performance management system - keep trying to find a better balance between core values and performance - without which you will keep bleeding top talent while retaining mediocrity, put in place a management training system as this is clearly deficient - young managers are thrown to the wolves

I worked at Desjardins full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Desjardins promotes a work life balance as well as a unique culture. They have a promote within mantra and encourage their employees to succeed.

    Cons

Desjardins is dedicated to moving forward and staying ahead of the game. If you like a fast paced environment this is the place, if you don't then you may see this as a con.

    Advice to Management

Management works hard and has their employees top of mind so keep doing what you're doing.

I have been working at Desjardins full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Very liberal place to work. If your from a lgbt groupe or women organisation, you will feel very confortable.

    Cons

Nepotism, racism (seriously no Blacks/Latinos/Arab/Asian) on higher rank then manager. Even with a degree. Sucks for affirmative action!

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting your cousins in no good kids, it is literally an Ivory Tower (just white people and their relatives)
