I worked at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    I can't think of any......

    Cons

I'm not sure if this is enough space but here it goes.

This was the worst position I've ever had in my life!! It gets me worked up just thinking about it again. For starters let's recap the whole experience. When I began I spent about 2 weeks on the phone with tech support trying to get my computer working with all the necessary programs with no help from managers or colleagues.

I was given the work of 3 people and when I spoke to management about reducing the load due to stress I was told to manage my time better. This comment sent me through the roof. Others on my team always got their one hour lunch and left right at 5. However, I was there many nights after 8p.m. with none of my colleagues around. When determining who should do what on the team someone made a comment about my salary that I was making "Big Bucks" and more senior people than me were overlooked in being assigned certain tasks.

The salary wasn't much higher than my previous employer and I was actually making more money at my previous employer, but thought this would be a better opportunity but I was completely wrong. I felt like a fish out of water from day one and when I started getting the hang of things my tasks were increased substantially to make me fail.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually care instead of just doing things that hr tells you do to. Don't make sarcastic comments to employees near the bathrooms or anywhere in the building. It's completely unprofessional and DON'T HARASS PEOPLE FOR USING A SICK DAY AND CALL THEM LIARS WHEN THEY RETURN!!!!!!!!!

You have a role in setting the culture and this is the worst culture I've ever been around not to mention work/life balance.

Snapping your fingers at employees to finish their work faster doesn't increase productivity, we're not dogs and deserve respect. Hire some more people if you want more done. Pretty sure 60 plus hour weeks aren't normal at most companies year round. Some of us have families and kids.

I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Job security, good benefits, location

    Cons

Salary, endless overtime hours with no compensation, unrealistic job expectations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Compensation evaluations should be done, the employees are underpaid for the amount of experience they have and the industry they work in.

    Pros

Work life balance is good, office is close to the beach and Towncenter.

    Cons

Very difficult to move locations, training is non-existent and Series License is very difficult to get sponsorship.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay employees more with bonus packages available for good performance reviews. More management training for senior analyst.

I worked at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good health insurance, located in a good area of JAX

    Cons

Boring routine work, managers are only concerned about their careers, promos are hard to get, temp employees make significantly more than permanent ones for easy reporting functions. Promotions are not always based on knowledge or skills but on politics. Not a fun work environment. Everybody looks like a zombie.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start focusing on the advancement of your employees.

I worked at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

It's really good experience with high level clients and lots of responsibility. Good benefits, time off, and lots of extra curricular activities such as sports clubs (they love soccer and golf).

    Cons

The reason they are in Jacksonville is because they can get quality work at a lower price than in NY and Jersey and it's average financial services pay. It's very much a grind and long hours and can get quite confrontational.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management doesn't evaluate employees on true merit. They back fill evaluations to match the dollars HR tells them then can spend.

    Pros

It's expanding. Most of groups are hiring new people. Lots of opportunities and new projects.

    Cons

It's far from New York which means far from wall streets. Sometimes, you don't know what's happening on the market.

I have been working at Deutsche Bank full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The bank is decent at recognizing high performers and promoting based on merit. Depending on the group that you are in, work/life balance is achievable, however, if you are not working overtime you will not be seen as working hard enough.

    Cons

There is no singular corporate culture. While this wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, it results in vast inconsistencies in experience depending on which team, division, or even building you work in. Unfortunately, if you find that you would like to transfer within the bank, management is able to prevent you from transferring for up to six months.

    Pros

    Great benefits especially vacation
    Ability to work from home
    Work/life Balance

    Cons

High performers are often lost because of the end of year review system. Advancing to the next level is very difficult.

    Pros

Vacation time (not that you can take it). Jacksonville is nice and the people are nice.

    Cons

Constant org and strategy changes, no way to make progress or a difference. They tell you that you're empowered and then cut you off at the knees.
